Good. Didn't realise any clubs were doing that. But does that mean you can't get the ifollow freebie before October?
We’ll get free ifollow if for whatever reason they decide fans can’t attend the games we’ve paid for in our season ticket.

Yes, and I'm not investigating possible infractions of the arrangements, I was just curious if the matches before your season tickets become active are covered by free iFollow

I guess because we haven't paid to attend any games we couldn't, it was never mentioned. Have other clubs provided free ifollow across the board then?
I've not heard of any other clubs doing part season tickets after October. It just surprised me that Carlisle were doing that.

Our chief exec explained that they didn’t want to charge fans for games they probably won’t be able to attend. I’m surprised no other clubs are doing the same

We've confirmed it woulkd seem, that other areas of the ground won't go on sale till tomorrow. Apparently the telephone system is designed to automatically reject calls if it calculates that current waiting times exceed the time available before lines close.

No, of course not. We have 700 +
What’s the plan for the remaining tickets? I know away fans aren’t welcome but I’m considering trying to be from Morecambe.... ;-)

Quite surprised Tranmere said no. You'd think it would be easy for the big stadiums like Tranmere and Carlisle to organise it for 1000 fans to attend and stay apart from each other. Where as smaller grounds like Forest Green might take a bit more organising.
Is it not something to do with having the right Covid safety certificates in place? Can't really commit to hosting a match at short notice without knowing you'll get a certificate.
Think the lack of notice did for us. Safety plans not signed off and with 3k+ season-ticket holders they’d require a ballot to allocate.

We’ve just done it first come first served.

Guys, this pilot games idea is not that easy to implement and is something that only a big professional proper club should attempt to do. Like us. Sure feels good being a U's fan.

If we pull this off where you couldn't can we have the three points you took off us last week? I think we should

We've applied to host a game without even being ready by the sounds of it.

The communication between the bod and owners in the last 24 hours deserves to be in the tinpot thread.

From board members commenting on the fan's facebook group, not being aware of the announcements by the gov or the efl, to contradicting press releases by other members of the board a couple of hours later. It's been laughable.

Sounds the same as us - season tickets were only to cover 22 games from October, so for this weekend's game everyone would still have to buy an iFollow pass whether they have paid for a season ticket or not. Plenty up in arms about that despite it being made clear from the outset.

Is that why you confirmed the club had declined to participate and then the next day it was announced you were one of the pilots?

Looking at your forum, it appears that the club hadn't even started planning how they were going to comply with COVID restrictions, thinking it was just something they needed to do before October, and then a pair of owners who hadn't been heard of for months suddenly announced fans would be allowed in this weekend.

The race is on for Shoddy. Will he get a Warwick Road end ticket?

In a nutshell yes. I said that because Rod Taylor had put it on facebook and usually everything comes through him. 2 hours later, his co-chairman releases a statement begging for fans to be allowed back. 24 hours later it's turned into a right mess, a total PR disaster once again.

We beg to differ.

Going to be weird not being allowed to take off face masks during the game.

Makes it much harder to shout stuff at the ref/opposition keeper/Cooper (if we're losing).

No. But don't give up just yet Shoddy, you lot are still in with a chance of finally winning the CUFC league. Beat Col U next month and you're back in the race.

We’re allowed to take off face masks. Have to wear them going in and going to toilet etc, but once in designated area or seat and are socially distanced we can take them off for the game.

Put your hand up if you are going to watch your team play tomorrow...:woo:

It seems pretty surreal to be honest, a long time since my last game back in February. I know the crowd will be tiny and there is unlikely to be much atmosphere, but at least it feels like a step in the right direction.

Hull have also pulled out.

Whereas the other pilot clubs had either said first-come-first-served or implemented some kind of priority arrangement, Hull had told their fans attendance was by invitation only and the club would be in touch if they were invited. Weird way of going about it, don't know if that contributed to them pulling out.
