Colin Murray has quit talksport because he refuses to work with the Sun, which would be an inevitable consequence of the station being bought by NewsCorp.
Fair enough from Colin Murray, but wasn't TalkSport started by Kelvin McKenzie anyway?

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Been bought out at least once since then, though.

Rumour going round that Everton want to appoint Steve Walsh from Leicester in some capacity. Think he is chief scout and assistant manager at Leicester at the moment, and was the guy who found Kante, could end up being a shrewd appointment if true

Our continuously shit ticketing system has died yet again meaning there are no online sales for the first game against Man Utd and people are having to queue or call (Where there are two staff answering phones).

It's beautifully tinpot, but glad I'm not sitting in that queue on a premium-line number. We might be Premier League on the pitch but we're barely League 2 off it.

Indeed, some things never change. No matter how much money comes into the club be it from the owners or from the Premier League, the supporter facing facilities, particularly ticking, always need to be shit.

Make it as hard has possible for your supporters to give you their hard earned money, because they're just an inconvenience. It's just the AFCB way and has been for many years.

And if anything there's even less incentive for the club to spend time money and effort fixing it currently, because they know they could sell the ground out twice over no matter how much of a hassle they make it. If one long standing supporter gives up there's multiple newbies who will jump in his place. And AFCB make 100 times more from sponsorship and TV than they do selling out Dean Court.

We can spend 15m on one player, but we can't upgrade the ticking system without killing it (successive summers) and we can't employ more than a couple of teenagers (probably on minimum wage) to bear the brunt of it all.

An advert for a new ticket manager has gone out, so I'm guessing somebody has lost their job over it. But this is not down to one person, it's a long running culture issue with the club.

I feel this PL on the pitch League 2 off it. We're the same and we've still not caught up, our f'kin director was moaning he messed up washing the kits the other day, like jeezuz.

One is Bournemouth's Steve Cook with his new hair style. The other is Barcelona's Lionel Messi sporting his new barnet.

I think it's clear to see that Messi is just trying to impersonate one of modern football's great players. Can't blame him really.

Why is this becoming a popular style?

The debate about do the Premier league clubs and players need a winter break has cropped up again..

Will a break actually mean a break or clubs just flying off on money making tours of the Far East and USA once more causing their players to actually get more tired I suspect!

Will be years off anyway. Even if they decide it's a good idea, they would have to wait until the end of the current TV deal, which doesn't expire until 2019.

I've actually long-thought a winter break in early January would be a good idea.... But sadly now it would be used to cram a few games in Shanghai or the US by the big 6/7.

Would give the rest of us a decent rest though, can't see the likes of Bournemouth and Watford jetting off to Asia in January.

Why do teams who aren't in Europe need a break anyway?

Stop dicking about and get on with it. Rotate the squad and that. Stop being so soft.

PL clubs currently have more money (mostly speaking) than any other club in the world. As a result they stockpile players, both senior and youngsters, because as the mantra goes in this league - you need two good players at least for every position. Most PL clubs make 9, 10 or 11 changes for Cup games for example, and those sides still usually fair well. There should be no reason that throughout a season, any one player needs to play 50 games and knacker themselves out. What's the point in accruing such vast squads if you flog the same 11-15 players for the entire season?

If we have to have a break, at least it would shut this long running argument up, but I'd hope that it falls over January and doesn't affect the Christmas calendar. But if we did, there needs to be an outright ban on clubs playing exhibition matches. The break needs to be a proper break, training ground work only.

If there were a break get it to coincide with the ACN.

They'll introduce the Winter break permanently at the Qatar World Cup.

Being serious with saying this is a great point. The festive period is worth a fuck load to businesses, it's the wet trades busiest period of the year. The broadcasters will surely protest any word of a winter break. It'll properly stifle their revenue streams from commercial markets.

Yep, a break would come in early January rather than over the Christmas period.
