Toure played under Guardiola for two years at Barca, as well as a couple of years at Man City. So Toure and Guardiola will know each other better than most. Maybe Pep does have something against African players, I don't know the bloke. But we can look at the evidence to hand.

There was bad blood between the two back at Barca, when Toure was usurped by Sergio Busquets for the holding midfield role. Busquets who went on to have a superb career obviously, suggesting that was a fair decision. Toure was shunted back into defence at Barca, if playing at all, which he was not happy about. He left Barca under a cloud.

Then Toure goes to Man City, is a star player for a number of seasons, playing in a more attacking role. His age brings about a natural decline in importance, with others coming in and becoming more prominent in the team over that time, but a time which does vaguely coincide with Guardiola's arrival.

In short I can see there being reasons for Toure not exactly liking Guardiola, as Pep's arrival as manager twice seemed to result in Toure losing prominence at a club during his career. But there would appear on the face of it to be obvious footballing reasons for that.

Current City players Leroy Sane and Benjamin Mendy are both part Senegalese, whilst choosing to represent Germany and France respectively. It also wouldn't be the first time Toure / his representatives have come out with some...odd... lines of thinking. Least we remember the cake paddy, which was two year before Guardiola's involvement.

It's a serious allegation Toure is making, and if Toure wants to "break the myth" of Guardiola via this accusation, then it'll require something more substantive, I feel.

Regardless of the validity of what he is saying, I'm just surprised he managed to keep his mouth shut until he was out of the door.

Apparently Toure's agent has told some shamans to curse Pep.

In theory is everything ticked with the redevelopment of SB - planning permission and that?

If Roman does go you can't imagine Chelsea will be short of buyers.

Yeah, think it was all progressing ok from what I could gather. Planning permission had been granted by the council and the Mayor of London had no objections. There was a slight hitch with a local family taking out an injunction but this was then effectively blocked by LBHF so no major hurdles I don't think.

Roman can name his price then.

Its a 4 year build (apparently). Not the end of the world but as not as attractive as if they were able to bang it out in a year (a la Spurs).

Excellent that is the start for me of the process that will f*ck up the money at the top, although it will take time.

Premiership top brass will be chuffed now, but Amazon will go with a kill off BT and Sky style then longer term offer a pittance once they have the position of power

Streaming is always a minute or so behind, which will be annoying.

If they can change the absolute stoneage rule that only one game can be broadcast on 3pm on Saturdays then it's all for the better.

Would be better if people actually went to the match.

I've never understood this insistence that everyone must go to matches and that if they don't they ought to be labelled "plastics" or some other pejorative. I actually think it's a bit shitty as top-level football can be exorbitantly expensive (esp if your club's London-based) and this sort of attitude gives no thought to people's personal circumstances. I went to Chelsea matches quite a lot in my (pre-Abramovich fwiw) youth, but I simply cannot afford to go more than once in a blue moon these days. If I want live football I'll catch a Kingstonian match or another local non-league game (which would most notably be Woking, Aldershot for me). That way, I can still watch games, give a club that could actually do with it my cash and still afford to live. Oh, and I can still watch Chelsea on the box. Think people should be able to support a club how they wish tbh.

Prepare for those annoying animated ads at the top of the screen every few minutes then.

Yes there's nothing plastic about being from Carlisle and 'supporting' Manchester United.

Our new kit, I love it.

You may notice a crest change... we've kinda gone down a similar route to Liverpool (again...) by keeping the same crest as our official club badge, but having a different, smaller crest on the shirt (I believe Liverpool have the 'liverbird' on theirs?). It's a controversial move but most of us don't mind, enhances the Terrier brand which has become quite symbolic of our heroics under Wagner.

I am abit split with showing saturday 3pm games.

On one hand i disagree because its hard enough on lower league clubs to compete for fans considering the Tv cash means prem sides can (sometimes) offer lower ticket prices, have massed marketing and other things to lure fans in.....to then give fans a chance to sit at home/pub and watch a game would make it even more tougher for clubs outside of a handful.

On flip side i sort've can see an appeal in the day and age of modern streaming of fans being able to see away games (not home matches).......at the end of the day do we not all usually just whack on the local radio to listen to away matches if we cannot get to them and with costs, demand for tickets and travel i think is streaming a match any different to just listening into the radio for an away game.

I sort've disagree completely with a tv provider being allowed to show a live match on a saturday 3pm slot, but maybe say online website could show game if a member of club (but for me would have to be in a free way like radio is)

Well I live in Sweden, so say it's enough for me to able to do that here. I follow several leagues in two different sports and the Premier league is still the only one you can't see every game in. It bugs me, but yeah I see your point.
