The pressure on Carlisle United is huge. Frighteningly big in fact

You get the impression this could be their one chance with their current squad. It's do or die. They will be very nervous on that long trip down from Cumbria.

It's a party atmosphere for us. Never been so relaxed going into any game.

really?

Bumped into a few Stockport fans on the tube tonight, they were heading to Clapham. They were confident, really confident. In fact I’d go as far as saying they were certain of victory, merely a formality.

Just lumped £200 on Stockport.

Only get £345 return on it, due to us being such BIG underdogs.

If we win great, happy to lose 200. If we lose then at least my return train ticket is covered.

Unlucky mate I’ve put my house on Carlisle, can’t wait to be living in a penthouse in London as you’re massive underdogs.

From a L2 supporter who can actually make a few away matches next season, I'd rather Carlisle went up because Stockport is so much cheaper to get to. On the other hand, one of my lovely Sainsbugs customers in South East London is a Stockport exile. He was at Plough Lane back in January. He accepted my bragging rights when we beat them at Plough Lane. He's got a ticket on Sunday and I wish him well.

Gonna say it, I don’t fancy Stockport’s chances much. Get at them early and they either don’t or can’t switch things up.

Carlisle get the early goal and Stockport won’t know what to do. It’ll all be about who is best drilled/composed on the day.

Very tight game on paper but both sides will be confident. Confident to the point where sources say both managers have left their Mrs' vase on the landing to practice tackling the Wembley steps then lifting the trophy.

Exactly. Forgone conclusion. I'm only here as I've already paid for the tickets

I really hope it doesn't go to penalties.

Just watching the Championship play off shootout gave me nerves.

I can't imagine how worse watching my own team would be!

All the best to both teams today and enjoy the occasion. Will be genuinely pleased for whichever comes up to L1. Have a slight preference towards Carlisle just because it’d be nice to see Edmondson get a second successive promotion as I liked his attitude when on loan with us last season.

The back and forth about who are underdogs is pretty typical of what has been an utterly underwhelming playoff battle this season. Full of teams trying not to lose to each other and whining about who has the most injuries. I don't think there has been a single team that has the balls to actually go for it so I say we just let one of the L1 relegated teams stay up and do 3 up 3 down this season.

That being said, Stockport are our promotion brothers and even though they are managed by the devil I like them and I think they'll be stronger than Carlisle next season so I'm in their camp today.

Kiss of death. Definitely Carlisle's to lose now

Why would we want to get promoted? When we can be in the same league as Hollywood Wrexham next season!

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Can neither side recruit Dwayne the rock Johnson for the day to add a name, sky must be very annoyed.

Hope for just a good game may best side win and not decided by something silly.

Hard to judge manager wise, Stockport manager has a superb promotion record, when the opportunity happens he delivers but Carlisle have that returning ex manager storytale so Lady Luck may favour either.

Hope all who can go today get there and not delayed.

That was due to COVID so no fans at games .

Unless you were just joking /sarcastic !

;)

I do remember Colchester playing Torquay in the 90s on a Friday night and there was about 17k.

That was the last time we played at Wembley - it got moved to the Friday night for an England v Saudi Arabia friendly on the Saturday, 25 years ago. We had been the year before too in the Auto Windscreens and also in 1992. So three times in six years, nothing since.

Looks probably about 15k each. Add in the usual YouTube vlogger types etc you get at these games would put a few on as well.

Carlisle need to get Gordon on the ball. Him against Hussey should be a mismatch in terms of pace.
