Might trigger a debate, but seems to me that Chesterfield is seen as an attractive away day for Vale, while the same cannot be said in reverse.

Don’t know why we never ever get a result there! (Bar the great 5-0).

We have in recent years to be fair travelled very well locally to S Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and Lancashire/Greater Manchester which helps.

Under 12s seem to be free at Vale Park in the home areas but the ticket info we've posted has under 17s marked up at £8.

Is the offer not available to away fans? I appreciate they don't have to but if that's the case I'm going to take my two and sit somewhere in home areas. Best bet the half-built stand?

Best check with the Vale ticket office on whether that's the case, not sure why we wouldn't offer it to away fans as there's certainly enough space. If you do go in the home area then the Lorne Street (half built one as you say) is probably best place to go. Best facilities wise and won't get any hassle in there either.

Thought it was the same as I know we do the family deals etc in the away end too

I could never go to an away ground and sit in the home end. Not celebrating goals would be weird.

I was thinking the same, especially in such a big game! Imagine if we went and scored in the last minute... there's no way I'd be able to sit there and keep the emotion in whilst fellow spireites are going absolutely mental
In the away end!:dk:

I’d do it if there was a reasonably large group doing the same. Although surely celebrating goals for the other team would draw attention and get you ejected?

For the first time in a long time i’m actually looking forward to the game, bound to be a let down.

Not sure how true it is but just seen on one of the fans pages on facebook that we've sold 952 tickets so far for the game Friday!!

I know there is quite a lot of people that are planning on paying on the day, me included so could turn out to be larger following than expected!:2thumb:

Firthy still on League one, i go on now and then cos i like to see the away followings particularly Plymouth who take big numbers everywhere. Firthy still frequents there.
SERNWA got banned i think, probably fell out with every opposition fan going when a Rotherham thread was on.

What do you expect? They're the largest City to never have been in the Prem.

Few of us going who were umm'ing and arrr'in about it. Massive massive game, couldn't not go really. a Point wouldn't be the end of the world as I fancy us on Monday.

Very nervous already though as a defeat basically drags Vale out of our clutches

With the two games in hand it's more of a must not lose game really isn't it!

Ofcourse a win would give our survival chances a better outlook but not losing means we keep the vale in our sights!

Vale have been playing a bit better than results lately and I reckon the prize of almost guaranteeing safety will spur the Vale on to a long overdue win.

Feels like a draw to me this tbh. Not so much a 'must win' for either side, more a 'must not lose'.

Only my second away league game of the season after Mansfield. Saturdays and Tuesdays are usually pretty useless for my childcare-wise so this one has fallen just right.

Shame the missus is working (she'd booked the Saturday off before the fixture was changed and never twigged until the other week) as she's from that part of Stoke and wanted to come too.

I’m going with my 7 year old and he’s not seen Vale lose yet so we are bound to lose one of the biggest games of the season.

Lose this and I really do fear for us. Hopefully Aspin will start with a positive starting 11 although I’m fully expecting I’m to start with Tonge and Pugh. I don’t think Pope will be risked from the start for this one.

It’s been a strange run to be honest, we lost for the first time in four months at home last home game (despite battering Exeter and playing far better than nearly all the previous four months bar Luton).

Despite that we’d drawn every home game since last year! Which is crazy.

We have to start turning them into wins. Ideally this weekend. I agree it’s a must not lose but even a draw then puts pressure going forward whereas a win makes things much more relaxed for us.

Draw isn’t the end of the world with a very winnable game up at Crewe on Monday but I’d prefer to get the job done tomorrow and go there with less pressure. 6/7 points from these three games in the next eight days would be massive.

Make no bones about it, with what’s at stake this is the biggest game in decades and is rightly being built up as that, hopefully our fans respond and get behind the boys in numbers and noise, it’s right to ask to leave the off field issues aside this weekend and concerntrate on helping ensure we have a league place come August.

Can’t see us getting anything at Crewe to be honest. Although we have been defending a little better, they’ve started scoring goals at the right time and with us struggling to score I think we will lose there which is why I think getting 3 points tomorrow is massive.

Should be a decent crowd and a good atmosphere of Chesterfield bring around 1000.

Wycombe are far more deadly than Crewe... kept them quiet. They seem a bit bi polar in performances though so depends which Crewe turns up. Fancy a point at least there though as we’ve become a tougher nut to crack lately.

I’d hope we will get over 5-5500 minimum home fans for this.

As for Pope... we’ve been keeping his return under wraps, hasn’t been mentioned so guess we will have to see on that one. We are totally different in style with and without him so guess we will keep them guessing to make it harder to prepare possibly.

The key for Vale I think will be having someone get close to Louis Reed. He's some player he is. Great passing, vision, hardly ever wastes possession. One of those players who seems to have a lot more time than he does. He takes the ball off the back 4 and keeps us ticking from deep, everything we do goes through Reed. His return at this stage is massive for us. I'd love to keep him permanently, but I don't think it'll happen!

I think he's an absolutely super star me. He's the kind of player who'd look even better surrounded by better quality. He strokes it around lovely, bosses the game. Just the rest of the team has been shit all season

Loads of crosses today by looks of it with Pope and Barnett... do as we did against Exeter Pope won’t be as forgiving!

Were unchanged from the Notts game! If we nullify pope and stop the crosses coming into the box we've got a good chance! Come on you bluessss

The issue is when Pope plays were weren’t feeding him, when he’s out we’ve been slinging them in there! Key will be if we just lump it down the middle.

Would have kept Whitfield on to use his pace though, Tonge and Pugh are ancient although guess they will sit in on the attacking midfielders which seem to be Chesterfields stronger point.
