Weird, we played them at home last night and now they’re playing you at their place. Busy bees
Was at ours, but both sides were nominally 'away' (we played in our away strip)

Keep a perspective...
Premier league against novice championship....
Still shit though!!
Im even keeled. Gonna be a great season. But tough. We'll get spanked a few times, as theres some real quality. Maybe we'll pull off a great win here or there but mostly just grind out some points. I want us to hold our head high, play our way, but be smart and do what it takes to hopefully survive and grow. Last season we went into L1 and were correct in thinking we had a shot at back to backs. Very very different this time and universally recognised.

Beat QPR 1-0 but they were pretty unlucky not to score .

Beat Blackpool 2-0.Finished preseason undefeated but the only half decent team we played was Rangers.

Really don’t know how to judge today. Norwich were relentess for the first 15 minutes and we were well off the pace. Grew into it a bit after the first 20-25 but only because Norwich came off the gas.

Crainie was very disappointing at RB. He was found out of position many times with Norwich exploiting a lot of width.

To be honest, I don’t really know what Luton’s plan was today? Slightly worrying 6 days before the first game.

Luton 1-5 Norwich - Champions v Champions
Barnsley 1-4 Sheff Utd - RU v RU
Charlton 1-4 Aston Villa - POW v POW

Bit of perspective there.

Both fullbacks didn’t look comfortable to me today Cranie and Potts didn’t play well. Good quality opposition but still. 2 key positions in the diamond, the fullbacks and the DM spot and we played Shinnie at the latter today at times. Not sure what we are doing there to be honest?

Don’t want to be too knee jerk, Norwich looked superb I thought Roberts in particular was excellent, but the whole pre season has felt odd to me. Hardly any friendlies, transfers that go against a lot of the philosophy that we have had to this point (im sure I saw Shinnie play DM today. Why sign Tunnicliffe then? Well stocked in those box to box slots but thought he would be cover at DM? AndCollins on the left?!) and still missing players in key positions for how we play with a week to go.

Not had such a seemingly disjointed pre season for quite sometime I’d suggest, perhaps understandable with the manager transition. Still a lot of work to be done.

Bugger me that was depressing. Can anyone tell me where last season's defence have gone as they didn't turn up today?

Also we now have those square box type nets. At the Kenny. Im sorry but that’s wrong.

Down with modern football.

We've had a really good pre season. Wins against Hamburg, Greuther Fürth, Rochdale, Donny, Cov and draws against Wolves and Montpellier.
Feeling more confident now, certainly haven't looked like we're on a downward spiral.
I guess if you add our draws against Man Utd and Soton from the end of last season, we're on a great unbeaten run :ds:

Leeds drew at Cagliari but Kalvin Phillips got a straight red late on, that's a ban intit?

Blades fans are absolutely in love with Robinson. Did you go yesterday? How did he play?

Nah mate I only go to friendlies if it’s someone we’re unlikely to play again like Club Brugge a couple of years ago. He bagged two goals though so I expect he played ok.

Think it's mandatory pal for cameras or some shit
Goal line technology. But the Kenny is now being dragged into the year 2000. The electronic advertising boards looking very smart if distracting. It actually makes the ground look even narrower.

We’re going to need about 3 miracles to stay up.
It’s hard to see how it will pan out, because it was a friendly, and you were playing a good villa side who had spent a lot of money. You didn’t seem to have much about you though . Shrewsbury gave us a better game the week before, so it could be a worry for you. Bowyer will walk if things start going to shit I think.

You were good but doesn’t excuse the fact we were unable to string two passes together and simply can’t defend.

Not sure why everyone is fawning over that McGinn goal either, he won’t score an easier one all season. Ball gifted to him, runs into the box unopposed and rounds the keeper who comes charging out. Pathetic from us.

We are at least 6 signings away from being competitive and Bowyer doesn’t sound too confident that we’ll get them.

Don’t think Bowyer will walk, he’s not a quitter. Most people would have walked the moment our bat shit crazy owner released a statement saying he had left the club. Perfect opportunity for him to get out, he would have got another job easy enough.

It was just his willingness that was great, and the goal looked far better than it actually was, but it was great to watch. We were good at times, but you were so poor second half. If you have a bad season, I’ll be surprised if he still there at the end.

What was their Chinese kid like? We're supposed to be after him but I think it's more for marketing perspective than anything else.

That's because it *is* even narrower. The electronic ones haven't replaced the old ones, they have just been set up in front of the old wooden boarding so we've lost another couple of feet on each side (apart from the boxes side where we don't have them).

They looked like a pretty temporary set-up to me, wouldn't be at all surprised if they are just there for Friday (i.e. the Sky game) and then gone for the next home game.

Lost 4-3 to Chelsea. 3 of their goals from goalkeeping mistakes. The first from Virginia letting a shot in from distance that was straight at him. Walker played in goal second half and made 2 errors. Neither keeper looked confident. Postive is we created plenty of chances.
