We played Everton for Marcus Hall's testimonial. I think they brought about 3k down and were the nicest fans I've met so far - suppose it helped there wasn't anything to play for though, wouldn't imagine they'd be as friendly if it was a competitive match.

If I remember correctly we were supposed to play Villa, it was agreed by both the clubs but WMP blocked it for safety concerns.

We may not even be going on a pre season tour or playing any games abroad because we can't afford it. We were supposed to go Slovenia but apparently the budget for that 'got out of hand' and now we're talking about going to Ireland but that may not even happen because most of their decent sides have already sorted fixtures.

Noticed Burton played their 1st pre season game the other day beat Gresley 5-1. Anyone else started yet?

Our 1st is a week today at Congleton.

Yeah, 1st friendly up Pit Bonk resulted in a 5-1 win, 3 for Knowles and 2 for Thiele. Away at Mickleover Sports on Saturday then off to Holland for a training camp and a couple of games, one of which is Den Haag of the Eridevisie.

We're playing Motherwell, in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon, behind closed doors, in Falkirk. Parky's had a belter this year organising these.

Last pre-season friendly I went to we got spuffed 3-0 by Bury at home, Jon McLaughlin somehow scored an own goal trying to clear the ball on his own 6 yard line with no players within a 20 metre radius. Think I lost the will to live at some point. We got promoted and got to the League Cup final that year though so all good. And Bury got relegated.
