Gillingham Pre-Season formula =

Pick 6 away games from the following:- Folkestone, Tonbridge, Faversham, Bromley, Dover, Ashford, Ebbsfleet, Dartford, Welling
Pick 2 home games from localish Championship teams eg:- Brighton, Ipswich, (ex) Millwall etc

Job done. EVERY SINGLE FUCKING SEASON.

What's wrong with a tour of Ireland or Belgium or Sweden or even fucking Syria? Anything just to break the monotonous, predictable routine, the same old shit year-in, year-out.

I would love a week on the smash in Ireland watching us play the likes of Cork City or Bohemians, Christ it can't be any less of a workout than being booted up the 'arris by the cloggers that play for fucking Dover or Welling.

Roll on August.

Jesus calm down. It's a pre-season schedule, it doesn't really matter where we play, all that matters is that our players get a good run out against a variety of standards of teams to build up fitness, teamwork and sharper technique after the summer off. We've had a few trips over to France in the last few years which have been fun but to be honest I wouldn't want the club wasting money going on tour every summer. Pre-season is what it is - and at the end of the day as long as our squad are ready for the first game of the season then I couldn't care less how they get there.

I'm pretty sure nearly every team in this league will have a bank of non-leaguers who they visit most pre-seasons anyway.

We've added a trip to Bromley to our schedule. Usually a decent day out that one, but unfortunately it's midweek.

At least 800 attendance for this mouth watering prospect. Burton Albion host Benfica, we have Bolton and County !! Someone like Everton or Villa would bring 1500 minimum, sums Vale up, do well get 2000 for both games combined. Why you would want lower league opposition at home is beyond me.

Could be worse, looks like our only home friendly is going to be against Carlisle.

Apart from the usual local non-league teams, it's been reported that we will be playing Aston Villa (shock), Everton and Liverpool in pre-season friendlies.

Do Dortmund B play at Signal Iduna Park or somewhere else?

Infact that doesn't even matter, I'd be all over that if it was Latics!

I think the Dortmund match is at the training ground next door. Can't afford to go.

Also we've got a friendly against Burnley so edited the above

Dale's schedule so far:

12/7 - AFC Fylde (a)
14/7 - Chester (a)
18/7 - Macclesfield (a)
21/7 - Blackburn (h)
25/7 - Huddersfield (h)
28/7 - Accrington (a)

Presumably the usual warm weather training camp in Tenerife will be the week before these.
