We've confirmed away at Grimsby and at the end of pre-season, home to Rotherham so far, with that being our only home game because of the Stacey West rebuild and we're also doing more work on the pitch.

The only ones confirmed for sure at the moment are at Kidsgrove Athletic and Newcastle Town both on 15th July so will no doubt be splitting the first team squad. Other than that there’s a five day training camp in Spain where we have a game with Grimsby lined up (but not official yet). Won’t be hosting any home friendlies due to work on the pitch.

Standard fare for us:

Evesham United (Saturday 8 July, away)
Swindon Supermarine (Tuesday 11 July, away)
Weston-super-Mare (Saturday 15 July, away)
Birmingham City (Saturday 22 July, home)
Bristol City (Tuesday 25 July, home)

I suspect we'll have another home game on 29th July - presumably someone like Wolves or Swansea

Hopefully have more than last year! 1 first team 90 minute friendly was ridiculous!

Our pitch is being relaid over the summer, so no home friendlies for us, other than one against opposition TBD - most likely Cardiff though. Because it's Joe Jacobson's testimonial and he was born there and started his career there, so...

Other than that, will be presumably the usual potent cocktail of local non-league sides.

Blimey time flies. I remember Jacobson playing for us way back when. Famous here for pretty much ending Kieran Dyers career as he was never the same after that;

"Just ten days after his debut, he was stretchered off after a tackle by Joe Jacobson in a League Cup match against Bristol Rovers that resulted in his right leg being broken in two places.[31] Dyer subsequently missed the rest of the 2007–08 season"

I cant remember him playing as well for us as he did for you guys though!

I bet you still got an injury and the ref was shit :bg:
We actually got a penalty (bearing in mind this was during our 73 game penaltyless spell!)

At that point we already had injuries... Wilson for example was injured on the Spain camp! Hopefully the newly refurbed pitch helps ease that this season.

Yeah we are having our pitch relaid too. We had a superb pitch until the heavy rain last year caused drainage issues.
Ironically DC had a great record here when the pitch was bad (back to back promotions etc), but results went downhill when the pitch was made perfect

We have Stoke city at home in the bass cup. We have played Leicester for this trophy before.
Also Birmingham and the baggies at home, plus usual trips to mickleover and Alfreton.

Naturally, I shall do the pre-season table again this year. A reminder of the rules:

1. Only 90 minute games consisting of two halves of 45 mins count. None of this 3 thirds of 30 mins, or 60 min kick arounds.
2. Games must be first team games. A squad of players with 1 first-teamer does not count. I suggest more than 6 first teamers in the 90 mins count.
3. The table is decided on points per game, then goal difference.

all the way to spain to play Stockport!
We are playing Grimsby also in Pinatar, the locals used to Tika Taka are going to love this Northern L1/2 festival of football!

Well this is good. So far-
I don't think we have a manager
Our CEO left in strange circumstances and we found out when one of our fans was checking something on the Companies House website
We certainly haven't got any known friendlies
We've just changed our shirt sponsor and our stadium name sponsor is also changing
We may have a new shirt

As usual we are being told nothing
Still, could be much worse, could be a Wigan or Fleetwood fan

Colchester away added for Saturday 29th July for us.

No home friendlies for us this year due to our pitch being done up and upgraded to a hybrid pitch.

We beat Melksham 9-0 last night. Looked in good condition considering they have only been back 5 days.

Joey after our 9-0 friendly win at Melksham: “Two years ago we drew 1-1 here. This is the best group I’ve had in my time at Rovers. They’ve come back with zero body fat, which means we’re not wasting any time on fitness levels, we’re cracking straight on with the football.”

Here are the results of this past weekend that I have - please tell me if I have missed anything. Remember only first team games count, Blackpool played the other night but it was a Blackpool XI.

Worksop Town 1-2 Barnsley
Melksham Town 0-9 Bristol Rovers
Nuneaton 1-1 Burton
Welling 0-4 Charlton

So this is the table after the first weekend of Pre-season games (I will add points per game once every team has played.

Top of the league! Theres a first time for everything. Although reports are that Northampton are enquiring if Melksham fielded an understrength team....
