Home to Scunthorpe United tonight in our penultimate friendly. Hope to see Ben Tomlinson given a run out but it seems to me he has been signed as part of the coaching staff

Strange one as he barely played for us under Heath. Then he looked a completely different player under Fullarton. One of the few positives we had with Fullarton in charge. If he can stay fit and regain his early season form, you’ve got a good one at that level.

We’re beating Ipswich now.

Is this a team showing how pre-season results really are meaningless, or one that is somehow well prepared for the season despite having no defenders, no signings and no pay cheques? Who knows.

Sam Graham was quality on loan for us a couple of seasons ago. Think he was Oldham last season so guessing it mustn’t have worked out for him there
we've put out a very young starting 11 tonight including a graduate from Hopwood Hall in Rochdale (where we train), Sam Graham and a Mancunian/Turkish winger who was playing in Macedonia last season. The winger and Graham have scored so far

Won 2-0 away to South Shields probably most solid performance against another bank rolled team.
Only Notts County left will probably win that, then lose first 5 league games.

Drew 1-1 at Maidstone, seriously lacking goals at this point. West Ham Under 7’s Friday which I guess will be Taylor’s actual first eleven followed by Hornchurch Away Saturday for the rest of them.

Beat Portsmouth 4-0 with all goals coming in the last 10 minutes.

Still havent conceded in pre season although we have played Badshot Lea, two Ryman teams and a bunch of kids so not going to get too carried away

5 wins from 5 for Maidenhead with a 1-0 win over Stevenage. Danny Whitehall with a peach of a free kick into the top corner. We had 5 trialists on display who all looked better than what we have already signed up. Recognised a few, hopefully we can get business done.

A Barnet XI won 4-0 at Chesham, Jamal Campbell-Ryce played on trial who I don't think anyone wants back, technically gifted but slows down play so much.

Alfreton 1-4 Scunthorpe

Impressive first half where we matched pratcially Scunthorpe`s first team. Second half a raft of changes and we began to fall away markedly fair result. We are operating with a very tight squad this season. 13 strong players but with any injures and we begin to look much weaker

I’m always a bit sceptical of pre season results but to be fair they were a cracking indicator last season.

Mystery solved over why Courtney Duffus couldn't play at Dorchester on Saturday but did at Taunton tonight. His knee ligaments can't cope with a 3G pitch. He's 23. Bodes well for the future...

Played the last 4 mins tonight. I'm guessing he's shit then?

114 games, 2 goals, both in the same game, doesn't score, isn't a tough tackler, isn't a flair player, he's just a body in a shirt, totally anonymous player, played 4 times for us last season and was dumped into the Conny North to see out his contract.

Just edged out 5-0 against the blades, we weakened the side abit second half against a strong side but as the score suggests they took the piss

We haven't signed any of the 12 (I think) trialists we've had so far, hopefully this will continue for the time being.

Beat Taunton 2-0. Rhys Murphy scored his 4th & 5th goals of pre-season so at least he's hit the ground running.

Well we got absolutely trounced tonight by a very impressive Sheffield United side...

Thought our first half team which won’t be far off the starting line up against Dover coped fairly well tbh only losing 1-0 by half time.

2nd half we made quite a few changes, as did they and they completely took the game away from us.

Only learnt one thing from tonight, and that’s that Coddington will 100% be our number 1 next season. Jalal just far too slow to react off his line and believe that Coddington would have dealt with at least 2 of the second half goals that we conceded. Was also impressed with Mandeville once again, he’s going to be very good at this level.

Good run out for our lads though as they were pretty much chasing shadows all game

He must have been ok for a while at least to have played over 100 games for you?

Seen the melt down on our forum that we got beat 5-0 by a Prem Team and it's a little funny.

By all accounts Robinson, Sharp etc were a class above, as you'd expect them to be. We rang the changes at HT whereas they didn't probably proving how serious they took it.

Learnt nothing, don't know why people read so much into it.

Beat Dulwich 2-0 with a brace from Dylan Kearney. The highlight for Sutton fans was the return of Tommy Wright following a 10 month out after injuring his ACL at Leyton Orient
