Torquay United are not naturally a FL club, how many years have you spent in the FL?
Of course they are. It's only in the last 10 to 15 years that they've found the going tough. Previously they spent decades in FL.

You're in a much better place than when they took over.

We were in this league when they took over. ;)

I'm not denying they have done some good things. The appointment of Johnson was obviously a master stroke and I'm sure he doesn't come cheaply. The new kits and the tie ups with PRO-Direct and South Devon College are also impressive.

Just saying we have to be wary, Osborne is here to make money and he's made no secret of that. I've no problem with that per se, but how do you make money from a non-league football club? Pretty much the only way is property deals and his track record shows he is good at closing stadiums but not so good at replacing them.

Yes just looked it up. Fair play, always struck me as a Morecambe/Yeovil type club.

I know you're only preparing for next season (if you still exist) but please fuck off our forum.
What? Yeovil and Morecambe are clubs which have broken into the FL in the last 10-15 years having spent the remainder of their history in non-league.

Although I know Torquay had been in the FL before, I didn’t realise just how long they’d been FL members, I just assumed like Yeovil and Morecambe, they were traditionally a non-league club.

Do your research next time or you'll end up looking an idiot again.

Got beat 2 nil off Blackpool. Hard to gauge on pre season friendlies isnt it. We've been a bit poor at the back though and we missed plenty of chances last night
How's Duxbury been looking?

Following Saturdays 3-0 win at Slough, Sutton beat Tonbridge 2-1 last night, both goals were scored by Aaron Jarvis (who also scored on Saturday). 5 goals in 2 games I think I need to have a lie down

We lost 3-1 to a strong Stoke team.

Although we've actually lost 3 games this pre season I'm feeling very optimistic. Performances have been good and we've looked a lot more threatening going forward already.

We were a football league club for 80 years before our first relegation into the conference in 2007. So I would definitely say we are a natural FL club.

Beat Hartlepool 2-1, nothing in match thought 2 evenly matched teams.
Hartlepool play some attractive football and should do well next season, thought your left back was fantastic should be playing in league.

Pools lost 2–1 at York tonight, was working in Selby so went along after work, we played well first half despite York kicking and elbowing their way through it, it’s a friendly ffs, Molyneux skins two players and gets clattered and taken off injured, has to go for an X-ray in the morning, then fat talentless c*** McNulty elbows Kabamba in the mush blatantly.

Changed the team completely second half and York came right back into it and scored twice , not too disappointed but poor tactics from York in the first half I thought.

Funny how 2 different fans see things different.
Was sat in main stand right next to incident kabamba was crying before any contact, you could hear him.he made a total meal out of it and very minimum contact.
McLaughlin tackle on Molyneux was not the best though.
York also had a changed team second half including 2 academy kids.

I’ll have to take your word for it, you were closer than I was, the only way Molyneux was being stopped tonight was being clattered and what a surprise it had to be that dummy we dumped McLaughlin, it was a friendly, no need for tackles like that.

Overall it was a good game, York are gonna do well this season and I’m still not sure about us, look decent going forward but the defence still don’t give me confidence.

By god, we might actually score goals this season. Barton looked terrible at the back mind, and we're desperate for a RB.

We're looking good I'd say, better than last time.

You clearly know nothing about non-league football, but the state you're in you are in for some lessons (if you are lucky).

Bolton have cancelled their friendly with Chester tomorrow... not looking good for them

the Stoke game was a good test, interestingly they started with basically a reserves squad with a couple of experienced heads (Stephen Ward, Bruno Martins Indi, Danny Batth, Lee Gregory) and then brought on their entire first team squad on 60 minutes, while we were at 1-1

just hope we dont play this 3-4-3 / 5-3-2 bollocks come 3rd August
