Won 2-1 away at Hallam tonight. Mandeville and McKay with the goals. Played 2 different 11s each half.

Probably do the same away at Matlock tomorrow.

Went to Harrogate the other night i thought we were slightly unfortunate to come away with a 2-1 defeat, game of two halves we were much better in the second half.

Our keeper looked a bit suspect especially corners being whipped in, but early days only seen him on one occasion. Jarrett Rivers & Jamie Holmes were outstanding.

I thought Louis Laing was very confident in defence, overall i was impressed.
As for the goals one was a defensive mistake and the other looked a yard or two offside.

Jarrett Rivers goal was a beauty.

Said it before and i'll say it again. Jarrett Rivers should be playing at a higher level

We're at home to Morecambe tonight - should be out most accurate insight yet into how strong (or weak) we're looking.

We're still clearly after a midfielder and a defender - not convinced Byron Harrison should get a deal, and another ineffectual performance tonight will probably spell the end of his trial.

We've got Lincoln City tonight, but as their 1st team squad are currently in Spain I'm assuming it'll just be an Academy side they're sending down. Which is probably much more productive for both sides on the pitch.

We have a County Cup game on Thursday as well, so it'll be interesting to see how many of our first team players are used tonight ahead of that game.

You've got to feel for their fans. Worst. Preseason. Ever.

This one is out of our control. The council haven't given the pitch enough time to grow and it's backfired. Hasn't helped with the rugby playing two games on it.

What I don't understand is why the pitch works didn't start weeks earlier when our season had ended and the rugby had all their fixtures purposely scheduled away to allow the pitch work to be done. Calderdale Council for you

Beat Morecambe 2-0 at home tonight - they could have had five or six goals, but second half our pace and passing blitzed them. On that showing, you would put Morecambe down for another season of struggling.

Not convinced by all our new players, but one or two could be real stars this season. Another good test against Blackpool this weekend (and Ian Evatt's set to don his boots for one last time).

3-0 win for us at Wingate and Finchley. Goals from Panayotiou, Rowe and Trialist.

Our record so far is P3, W3, GF10, GA0 - any trophies for pre-season to go along with our AGM cup? ;)

We drew 0-0 with a strong Carlisle Utd side tonight at ours. I wasn't there, but one of their players (Hope) was sent off for punching/elbowing a Chester Player. Unusual occurrence, but when does the ban/ punishment take place?

As he's a Carlisle player the punishment is having to stay with them an extra 12 months

Maidenhead 1-0 Kuwait - decent performance against a very technical side who lacked cutting edge. Half a dozen trialists who largely impressed. I think one of them is ex-Barnet but not 100% sure.

Barnet 6-2 Crystal Palace - wow! Hoping for HLs soon.

Got thumped 6-1 by a full strength Swansea side tonight. They were streets ahead and Nelson genuinely stopped it being double figures. We ended the game with lots of new trialists and a few youth teamers so I’m not going to read to much into it

I bet you're not vilifying GI anymore now you are on the up!

We've just got back to one level below where we should be so not exactly flying high are we?

Still don't trust Osborne, yes he has made decent funds available but it's all loans and the problems will start when he wants it all back.

We beat Matlock 2-1 in 3rd pre season game of the summer tonight. We played our development team which is mainly made up of under 21 players and fringe players, alongside Sam Wedgbury who played a full game to continue his rehabilitation from knee injury..

The lad on trial from Norwich looked really promising, I liked the look of him so hopefully we can get him in on loan.

A hard fought 1-0 win for us tonight against a young Lincoln City XI. Both teams lacking in end product really, but the difference in decision-making and speed of play was certainly noteworthy. The game should prove a good learning experience for both sides, for sure.

There wasn't much to take away from that game apart from experience for the youngsters. Sarll was as honest as ever after the game.

"Did any of the trialists catch your eye?"
"No not really"

He said we've put out 4 or 5 contract offers in the last 48 hours, mostly midfielders and at least one striker going by what he said.

If there were we'd be taking home the silver. We're currently on:

P3, W3, D0, L0, GF20, GA0 :P1:

We beat Palace 6-2 last night meaning we’ve already scored 50% of our total goal tally for the season.

Got beat 2 nil off Blackpool. Hard to gauge on pre season friendlies isnt it. We've been a bit poor at the back though and we missed plenty of chances last night

We lost 1-6 to Swansea last night. Based on these two results i'm not looking forward to the first game of the season.

Won 1-0 at Lincoln United last night.

Hit the woodwork four times and had two further efforts cleared off the line as we dominated. The trialists impressed once again. Hope we sign left back Rhys Dolan ex Ilkeston FC,Barnsley

You're in a much better place than when they took over.

Torquay United are not naturally a FL club, how many years have you spent in the FL?
