I've been to Celtic Park on a Champions League night, difficult to be beaten.
I was there for the 97/98 Scottish Cup Final, to see Hearts beat the Huns 2-1...to be honest I was a bit worried as the area around the ground could be described as ropey, but after the final whistle there were Celtic fans rushing out of their homes to shake the hands of Hearts fans...bizarre!

Same, my Scottish allegiance is to Hearts but to see top class football in a full raucous very impressive stadium is a wonderful experience.

Not a patch on the County Ground mind but decent nonetheless!!
it's not very often you see the words "Scottish" and "top class football" in the same sentence.

Lovely but completely irrelevant to the Celtic conversation.

Ours is now all but done:

  • Tue 6th July – 5pm KO – Dundee (A)
  • Tue 13th July – 7pm KO – West Ham United (H)
  • Sat 17th July – tbc (H)
  • Sat 24th July – 3pm KO – Maidenhead United (A)
  • Sat 31st July – 2pm – Gillingham (H)
  • Tue 3rd August – 7pm KO – Heybridge Swifts v Leyton Orient XI (A)
Heard the missing home game will hopefully be Spurs, but they've not committed to it yet.

We've been told not to travel to the Dundee game as no away fans allowed etc. That won't stop a few of the more determined fans who will find a way in.

It would be only fair. It's not as if anyone from Scotland travelled down to London without tickets yesterday....

We’ve had the issue of our local games at Kidsgrove for example now going all ticket and limited capacity which will affect most clubs with the non lifting of restrictions which is a shame.

isn't it a nice feeling when you get to say "National League side" and you're talking about someone else....

We've said that we'll be welcoming back 2000 fans for our 3 home friendlies - Apparently we need to do 3 pilot home games with no more than 2000. Home fans/Season ticket holders only.

We’ve also got Sunderland at home and trips to Warrington and Stalybridge. Would be good to do one of the away games if they’re letting visiting fans in.

Hoping there might be a positive benefit from Rangers visit in terms of loan deals.

You would imagine that might be the case given Gerrard is local. Not a bad link up to have.

You'll probably end up with Andy Firth (goalie) on loan from them....

Barnsley are paying a visit to The Crown Oil Arena, but behind closed doors.

Since they usually beat us several-nil, the lack of fans may not be a bad thing...

No big games for Crawley....and to be fair...

Spurs & Hammers u23 are the nearest we get to a big club but lots of local clubs, Horley Town, Burgess Hill Town, Three Bridges (actually in Crawley) and so on. First game at Walton Casuals on Tuesday.

I'm expecting the games to be about team shape more than a work out. However we do have games on a Friday and Saturday (16 & 17 July) to push the old calf muscles.

Not that results matter a jot in these games but won our first friendly this afternoon at Kidsgrove Athletic 2-0.

Named a different team for each half and the first one had a triallist but no idea who he is.

We've apparently got a behind closed doors friendly at Birmingham City on the 20th July. We've had a couple of players on loan from them in the last 2-3 years - so might be looking at someone with a view to a loan again.
