A team of trialists and youngsters representing Crawley lost 1-0 at Beckenham Town tonight. The team included 3 players who could be on the subs bench Saturday but no starters . Edit...Maybe the keeper Blondy.

One trialist was said to be Mark Marshall who was at Northampton. He played 15 minutes against hammers u23 and looked good.

Dannie Bulman played and after being subbed was pictured beer in hand. Legend.

Can't speak to what he has been like the last couple of years but you won't find many Vale or Bradford fans with a bad word to say about him. Was a really good player though a good part of his game was based on pace which in his mid-30's am not sure on now.

To be honest, he was garbage in his first season. Admittedly, we reached the L1 playoffs, and he played his fair share of games. The following season, McCall returned for the 16/17 campaign - the year we lost to Millwall in the L1 play-off final, he was unplayable. This was largely due to McCall’s man-management and the players he had around him.

Oh, to have a squad like this again:

Keepers:
Colin Doyle
Rouven Sattilmaier

Defenders:
Stephen Darby
James Meredith
Matt Killgallon
Romain Vincelot
Rory McArdle
Nat Knight-Percival
Tony McMahon

Midfield:
Josh Cullen
Mark Marshall
Nicky Law
Timotheé Dieng
Alex Gilliead
Filipe Morais
Paul Anderson

Strikers:
Charlie Wyke
James Hanson
Jordy Hiwula
Billy Clarke
Marc McNulty
Harris Vuckić
Alex Jones

Probably the best squad we’ve had, and will have, for a number of years. The fact we lost to Millwall through an offside goal, and we missed a sitter in the last minute, still hurts. Genuinely believe we’d still be in the Championship now had that game ended in our favour.

Yes, I’m bitter.

Well Marshall (if it was him) skipped passed a few of West Hams youngsters and delivered some lovely crosses so pace didn't seem to be an issue.

I suppose its all to do with how much money we can afford.

Stags fringe players lost last night 3-1 away to Buxton.

Not one who played last night will start on Saturday.

We beat Grantham Town 1-0 in the Lincolnshire cup QF, we had mostly back ups and youth players playing except for Mason O'Malley our LB who scored.
