We seem to beat teams from a higher division than us in friendlies before a season of struggle so maybe getting dicked off Barrow is a good omen.
Enjoy League One

After Scunthorpe cancelled due to the fact they could not raise a side we have now arranged a friendly this Friday against Morecambe.

Crawley are playing a Norwich eleven behind closed doors this afternoon (4:30 kickoff).
Lewis Young will be back from the World Cup and expected to play. He was allowed to miss the first match to support his brother. So much for professionalism.

What's the issue with that? Assuming he's Ashley Young's brother? He's currently playing for Crawley, so Crawley, he's unlikely to play in the world cup himself and his brother was playing in his last world cup. It's nice clubs are allowing this, Martin Allen allowed Maguire's brother to watch the Sweden game with a funny press release. It's nice to see fottball is evolving to be more family oriented

Lost 3-1 at Barrow... Bennett got our goal.

It was interesting to see Grainger on the Carlisle website say that they had only been back in training 10 days and that he thought barrow had been back 2 weeks earlier and that's why they were fitter etc - but infact Barrow had only been back 8 days - so even less than Carlisle

your trialist left winger was Lewis Walters who was on loan at Barrow from Notts Forest last season - If you don't sign him we might try to. decent player.

His presence as a trialist was officially confirmed by the club last week, how did he look at the match?

Jolley did that with Mitch Rose too and Martin Allen did it with one of the Chesterfield mob too.

Yeah ok. Fair play to the manager.

We lost the game 2-0. Norwich started off with a strong team including Jordan Rhodes and McClean who they have just signed from Aberdeen but it was a training game played in 30 minute sections. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind that.

All five of our summer signings are injured! That fills me with confidence... not!

Is it too late to recall Josh Lelan from Aldershot?

Currently winning 6-0 at Truro City which is fairly impressive as they’re no mugs.

Goals from Boateng, Sparkes, Jay, Stockley and Forte x2.

Hereford captain Jimmy Oates still on trial and started at right back.

We're away at Cirencester tonight and we have a trialist with a cracking name - Kalvin Lumbombo Kalala.

We apparently saw him in a trial game back in May and he's been training with us since the start of pre-season. He's French.

Other than that I know literally nothing else about him.

Over 6,000 tickets sold for our home friendly against Liverpool tomorrow. I imagine atleast 4,000 of those are Liverpool fans.

Not really my cup of tea watching us get beat 7-0 surrounded by Bury based Liverpool fans.

Big crowd set for Meadow Lane tomorrow versus the Lampard’s Rams.

Don’t care one jot about the result but is good ££££ for the club once again

Good to see that shaky defence has improved eh Chris? ;)

We actually managed to go nearly 20 minutes without conceding at one point. Solid.

I can remember when FGR drew 5-5 at home to Torquay in the National League and celebrated like they’d just won the Champions League. :bg:

We used to have Jean-Paul Kamudimba Kalala playing for us, must be a Kalala trait to have a stupid name.

How in God’s name did you manage to let in 6 to W-s-M

According to Cooper we haven't done any defensive work in training yet, main focus has been on fitness and possession/attacking moves.

Hopefully we'll get round to doing a bit more defensive work before we play Leeds on Tuesday.

The lad scored in a 4-0 win (Mo Eisa with a hat-trick) but isn't getting very good reviews from those who were there. Johnson spoke highly of him afterwards.

Two more clubs have confirmed bids for Eisa as well - both rejected due to not being at our valuation.

Our game against Lincoln United on Monday has been cancelled due to their pitch being scorched by the weather. It wasn't in great condition when we played them last year so they've learnt their lesson.

We're playing at Hull in a behind closed doors friendly on Wednesday instead.

That man is so full of shit! So your defenders and keepers have been doing nothing in training for a few weeks now?

What a helmet Cooper is.

Turns out I misread the tweet - the poor review was very tongue in cheek in the hope no-one else shows an interest.

having smashed truro 6-0, you may as well just give us the L2 championship trophy now.
