We're playing Torquay away tonight, which is funny cos back in 99 when we played them in the FA Cup 2nd round it was a big deal for us to play a Football League club like them. Fast forward 19 years and we're the Football League side going there for a pre-season friendly.

Wont be going though, obviously I'll be down the pub watching a proper game to see who's getting through to lose to us in the World Cup final. It's coming home.
It is crazy how times change so fast.

On another note I saw an interview with Reuben Reid following your last friendly and he’s trimmed right down, which he says is due to a lifestyle change.

If he can remain that lean I think he could have a great season and is capable of 15-20 goals.

Lost to Stoke 5-2 in a behind closed doors game at their training ground yesterday. Two very strong XI's put out by Stoke:

Stoke City (First-Half): Haugaard; Edwards, Shawcross, Huth, Pieters; Fletcher, Imbula; Verlinden, Allen, Bojan; Afobe.
Stoke City (Second-Half): Federici; Bauer, Souttar, Martins Indi, Tymon; Adam, Afellay; Campbell, Berahino, Choupo-Moting; Crouch.

No idea what side we had out as there's nothing on our OS about it.

Yeah he is looking sharp, made a big impact when he came in last season taking some of the pressure off Doidge, so if he's even fitter this time then, like you say, can see him scoring quite a few.

Commendable 3-2 defeat at Prenton Park tonight for Tranmere against very strong Liverpool teams.
Johnny Smith and a trialist called Soukouna with the goals.

We won the second half 2-0... just a shame we lost the first half 3-0! Karius is getting a roasting from the Liverpool fans for spilling Norburn's free kick for our first.

3rd win from 3 for us, winning 2-1 at Colwyn Bay. We've now beaten a Wigan side of unknown strength behind closed doors, a 7th tier side and an 8th tier side. We'll piss this tinpot league.

Lost 4-0 at home to Huddersfield tonight.

Didn’t go so don’t know how we played. Hard to gauge these games as we are League Two vs Premier League.

Opening our pre-season with 0-6 and 0-4 defeats ain’t great though.

Liverpool next which you’d imagine will be another cricket score. Roll on Chester away imo.

Lost 2-1 to Swansea in our first friendly, first team played the first half and were 1 up at half time through Jordan Green, second half 6 trialists and a couple youth team players came on.

Notts won Basford 3-1 tonight. Was a first team fixture but not exactly full strength with no Dennis, Hemmings or Kellet. Although seems we have a Chinese youth player with a foot like Thor's hammer

I do find it a bit weird that every other club has eased themselves into pre-season by playing local non-league sides, whereas after a week of training we've decided to play Rangers, Huddersfield and Liverpool. Surely this can't be a sensible thing to do? Then again it is Bury and we don't really do sensible.

Not us, after Norwich it's Sheff Wed on Friday. Our first real chance against non leaguers will be Monday against Lincoln United, though they usually do okay against us with quite a few ex Imps in their ranks.

A fairly youthful Crewe side beat Colwyn Bay 2-1 Ainley and Griffiths with the goals. Barrow on Saturday next for us.

Similar to us then, albeit to a lower standard. We’ve got Liverpool next, then Chester and Radcliffe Borough. We’ve got Southport either before or after we play Everton too.

I’m not bothered yet.. 6-0 and 4-0 is as bad a start as you’re gonna get but you have to think who we’ve been playing... struggle against Chester though and it’s not looking great for us.

Got some key players coming back into the team soon that haven’t played yet so hopefully that gives us a lift.

8 - 1 win for United in the Cambridge Derby. I was impressed with the City mix of regulars and trialists in the first half, before we put a different and stronger 11 out for the second half. Even then, I can see City doing well with a much better pitch than they had at St Ives and a manager (Robbie Nightingale) who plays some good stuff.

Apart from an injury/knock to Harrison Dunk's shin, it was a comfortable run out for the U's, with Osadebe, Azeez and Reggie Lamb going through the gears and Deegan/Maris both looking imperious.

Still need a striker to back up Jabo. I don't think Azeez will be it.

Lost 3-1 at home to Norwich, Raggett scoring an own goal on his return to Sincil Bank.

Cowley out.
You've left out the most important info about all Lincoln's home games here, what was the attendance?

We lost 4-2 to Bristol City at Weston Super Mare last night, meaning Lee Johnson has the bragging rights over his dad again.

Not really a fair contest for bragging rights is it given the resources at the two clubs.

Dongda He to lead us to the title and a lucrative tour of China next summer.
