We had to pay off a fair few of ours when we came down after THAT season, to get them off the books.

I really don't think Villa will do too badly (provided they get in a good manager who knows this division).

They won't be able to shift everyone on, which could be a blessing if its those who have underperformed. A new easier league, get a run going and some confidence and those underperformers could get back to their natural levels which will be right towards the top of this division.

I can't see them getting relegated and i'd be shocked if they're down here more than three seasons.

The last minute goals scored by both Brighton and Boro will give them a lot of confidence going into the final few games.

We really need to hold our nerve. If we lose at home to Boro in a couple of games time, we're fucked.

With Boro top they would take 3 wins and 2 draws.

Can see Burnley maybe dropping points at either Birmingham or Preston...

I reckon it'll come down to the last day when Boro play Brighton. That'll be massive.

Burnley will get 1 point from their next three games, will miss out on automatics and go into the play-offs demoralised with Andre Gray suffering a serious toe injury on the final day, rendering them useless.

Aye, us playing on the Friday is why they can't gain promotion.

They could get promoted on the Saturday, without playing unless i've looked at the fixtures wrong.

I love how bitter some of the Preston fans are on here. It'll be a shame to leave you behind for next season.

Such a shame Birmingham have completely dropped out of play-off contention as they really could have done us a favour or two with Burnley and Boro still to play (still might, but less likely). Gonna be seriously unbearable this run-in - feels like every game's taking years off my life at the moment.

It's been an amazing (and unexpected) season whatever happens in fairness, but, well, when you've come this far..

Again wanting to see you fail and then making a joke about you ending up in league 2... Not bitter just rivals.

Simple folk these Dingle lot.

I'm rooting for a Burnley title win purely because it nets us about £5m in sell on fees.

To be fair if you go on the Boro or Brighton forums, Dyche gets a lot of grief on there too. It's not being bitter, the man is just an absolute goon.

Dyche is by some distance the best manager in the division, nevertheless, he doesn't half sound like a tit when he bangs on about finances.

Dyche will see Burnley over the line and Brighton look to have the easier run-in. I do fancy those two in all honesty.

He's done what? One promotion to the PL with a side heavily backed, Im not saying I do not rate him but to say he's the best is stretching it

Apart from Bruce there aren't any other managers I'd rather have than him in this division, despite him being an odious fucker.

Over McDermott / McCarthy / Warnock who have won the division?

Every season I say it, but I would love Mick McCarthy down here. Don't think there's a better manager at this level.

I'd rather Dyche over every one of those managers mentioned, yes. Burnley will most likely win the division this year to add to that.

Burnley to me are the most likely of the top 3 to miss out on autos. Form has been slipping and play Middlesbrough next week at a time when they're in great form.

Also helps Dyche when they can afford to spend over £20m on players, something none of those managers above had the luxury of. His aim this season was promotion. He'll probably achieve that but hasn't gone anything beyond.

Likewise with McDermott. But you'd rather worry about having the wrong manager after promotion than when you're stuck down here doing nothing.

Agreed, although i'm a fan of Gary Rowett too.

This Wagner could turn out to be a top manager at Huddersfield as well.
