We'll potter along like we did last season, and drop out on the last day again as you leapfrog us.

Can we both make an agreement on this now? :2thumb::dk:

In all seriousness, a Derby and then 2 more tough games for you next.
Would like to see us take advantage and be above you after the Hull game.

We're back, baby! Amongst the likes of Sheff Wed, Brum & Cardiff I prefer our run in.
Feel Derby will almost certainly finish outside the top 6 with Wassall in charge which opens things up.

Touch wood McGoldrick is back fit for the last 5 or 6 games- and perhaps Bishop for the playoffs should we make it - that would be a huge boost, even if he's just used as a weapon from the bench.

You're far more optimistic than me! Tonight was woeful, although we won. Blackburn were just worse.

Saturday will be far more tough playing a Rotherham team picking up good results.

I'm taking it game by game, but that last day of the season looks like it might be a cracker! And I can't go

I know we aren't playing well- but tonight wasn't about doing that, essentially we just need to take 3 points against a potential banana skin. I think we need to improve going into the final nine games, I just think if we do manage that then our run in looks easier than those of our rivals.

Our contribution in this thread is much like the Hokey Cokey!

For what it's worth, this will probably be our last contribution after today. At the end of the game, it became apparent there are more MM outers than supporters.

Expected you to kick on this year but every time you get into the top six you seem to fall away. Just standard Championship inconsistency that most teams suffer or something else? I gather you stood still in the transfer window again?

Be wary if you get rid. Losing play-off semi-finals isn't the only thing all his clubs have in common, they've all been relegated the season he left/was sacked too.

Yep we stood still again.
I think the issues at Town sit higher up than MM personally. Evans has lost all interest and is again increasing already expensive tickets. But Town fans don't like to forget Evans saved the club 10 years ago and MM saved us from relegation 4 years ago. Just no ambition around the club and I can only see us being in your shadow for a long long time

We've got Cardiff and Hull next. We'll drop out of the top six after those two.

You may have had a few injuries, but firstly that is what squad depth is for, you'd expect a few injuries at a time throughout the season.

But I think it's quite clear that Brighton were running on confidence. Still just Brighton and Bolton who haven't won a game this season by more than a goal. You weren't tearing teams apart when you were on form / fully fit, and now just slightly weaker and out of form it has all gone crashing down.

As i've said in this thread I thought you'd spend well in January to keep up a top 6 finish, but your form is much worse than I could have imagined and is now looking reasonably likely that you won't even make that. Despite going 20 odd games unbeaten.

71 points from 38 games. We've capitulated. Hughton out! :)

Might take a while but here is a Prediction calculator..

http://www.thefishy.co.uk/calculator1.php

Had Burnley/Hull for top 2 - latter on GD from Brighton.

Brighton/Boro/Sheffield Wednesday and Derby for play-offs.

Will Hughes will feature in Shaun Barker's testimonial on Thursday. Will be great to see him back.

Will obviously be a while until he's match fit, but a massive boost to have Will back in training and playing a part in the final push for a playoff place.

I think the top 6 will stay as they are now- us, Cardiff & Birmingham just aren't showing any type of consistency to bridge the gap and overtake teams with a greater goal difference. I anticipate we need at least 7 points from the Wolves, Charlton & Brentford... perhaps even 9... to change that.

Effectively 6 points adrift taking into consideration goal difference, with 7 to play.
See you next season, folks! (Probably not in this thread, though, back to mid-table Ipswich I fear!!)

I know these are just people's predictions and I never take them seriously. I also know we are utter tripe but even I think we'll get at least one more point.

Likewise I think we'll make more than 3 points. We only play two teams with anything to play for now (Middlesbrough + Hull), one of whom we beat, the other we should have got a draw from if they hadn't of kicked us off the pitch.

I'd hope with our fixtures we're able to finish top half, even if we can't score.
