Play like you did against us and I can't see Leeds beating you. Leeds have gone to shit.
We've been like that at home in a few games this season, boss the game but create little against teams that are defensively resilient.

I think it's very difficult to be confident who'll go up with Wolves tbh. Plenty of possibilities.

I'm fairly confident we might be joining you in the top 2. :cool1::cool1::cool1:
Daft thing is you could. Went down the league table just now and I don't think there's anyone in the top half who I'd want to put money on being top 2 other than Wolves.

That's why I'm praying to God we haven't slipped miles off the pace by the time the window opens as it could be a mad scrap.

I still fancy Boro to go up, they'll get it right eventually.

3) Wales Reds
4) Sheffield Red Hoops
5) Stockport County
6) North East Reds

We struggled a little in our first 3 matches trying to come to terms with the division but in our last 9 matches we’ve been fairly comfortable being the better team. No last minute winners or dodgy decisions etc.

So we’re pretty consistent putting in a good performances without hitting the heights of thrashing anyone yet. That’s because our attack is still a work in progress and the weakest part of the team. If that gets sorted like I expect then we should get better in the new year (like last season).

Not sure about top 2 (seems too good to be true) but realistic expectations are top 6.
The biggest threat to our success is if a good sized PL club (like Everton) tries to tempt Wilder away.

Another threat is that Wolves look too good for anyone at the moment and you’d expect one of the many high quality teams to start playing like a team and putting a good run together.

Ive never seen us play such quick passing entertaining football in my 40+ years watching the Blades and the mood is probably the best I’ve ever known too. Like last season with Wilder around you can feel something really special is happening and it’s stronger than both the Warnock and Bassett era’s. It feels like we’ve got our own Brian Clough, Wilder can buy unknown players from the lower leagues and very quickly they play like high quality classy players, just doesn’t make any sense. We’re not this plucky hardworking organised side, we actually play really open positive football with some fantastic midfield play. Football can kick you in the balls when you least expect so let’s see how long it lasts.

Fulham's spending goes under the radar a bit.

They had a Portuguese striker up front on Saturday who cost £8m! he looked pretty shit as well.

Cairney, Kebano, Ayite, Norwood, Johansen, Kamara & Cisse all cost decent money too.

Good team though.

Norwood's only on loan, but yeah you're right. First time I saw Fonte (aforementioned £8m Portuguese striker) was a couple of weeks ago when they were on tele at QPR and he was utter gash.

Fulham don't let Jokanovic sign his own players though.

Yep I expect them to be challenging top 2 for sure with that team.

This year will be different to the last - Newcastle and Brighton dominated most of the season last time out, can't see that happening this year. Teams will blow hot and cold - it'll be who manages to put a run together at the right time. Wolves by far and away look the strongest team so far then, although it is still relatively early days still.

I'm not complaining but I think we are being overestimated a little. We were brilliant against Villa don't get me wrong, but we have been crap in some games too and scraped some results we didn't deserve. Teams who are half decent at set pieces and crowd the midfield (which to be fair can be most of the division on a good day) can paralyze us so to speak. Most of our play comes through Neves or the wing backs, so if you can take them out of the game our talented attacking players begin to look ordinary. I think the winter months will be a real test for us, and Wolves are notoriously shit in November.

You've been the best side to face us this season but conceded a few cheap goals and gave away a stupid penalty. As I said at the time I don't think many will score three at Molineux this season, was well happy with that result.

You have strength in depth and a style of play that's nice to watch, I think you should go up really but then Leeds looked invincible a month ago and they've since gone to shit.

We do have strength in depth I guess, but if Neves gets injured for a few months then we have Jack Price coming in. Nothing against Price but it's like going from having a 8 ounce steak for dinner one night to having a pot noodle the next.

This hot and cold comment doesn’t seem to apply to Sheff United.

I’m not exagerrating when I say that win, draw or lose Wilder ensures we always play well and give 100%. Our midfield has been dominant in every match of late, we even outplayed a fantastic Wolves team for long spells who had an off day with their 10 men. No excuses from Nunez.

The last time we put in a below par performances was 14th January 2017 away to Walsall. Admit we weren’t great in our first 3 matches this season but we were finding our feet giving the opposition too much respect. Wilder is relentless and treats every match like a cup final regardless of the opposition. We play positive attacking football with no fear and we’re on Sky at Elland Road in 2 weeks. So you can judge for yourself. Can guarantee we won’t be defending in numbers and will go for the win.

We were sometimes brilliant last season whereas this season at the higher standard we’ve not been fantastic in a single match. So we’re a long from the heights of Wolves but we’re really consistent. Long way to go yet.

Anyway I never mind losing as long as the team play positively and give 100%.

You keep saying this, not sure if it's specifically looking for bites. You outplayed us because we had 10 men, if we have 11 men the whole game plays out differently. It's not something you can really brag about, it's like saying you're better at playing tennis than some bloke who has 1 arm. I will look forward to the return leg when hopefully it's 11 vs 11 to see how that one roles out.

Also it's Nuno, not Nunez.

Very true ha.
In private I keep predicting doom and gloom but it’d just not happening. Wilder is like the Messiah with the Midas touch,

Even our star youngster David Brooks has just signed a new 4 year contract this afternoon. All seems a bit too good to be true.

Don’t worry I’ll give the oppostion plaudits when we lose and I have to admit Wolves look really impressive. No wonder their fans are getting excited.

4 year deal means nowt unless weve got a good buy out clause involved because let's be reyt he will be sold. Things are on the up though at long last

Nothing sad about it mate :2thumb::2thumb: 11 point gap already is quite remarkable

Unbelievable really, one of the reasons the pressure is stacked on Carlos. Playing for 86 minutes with 10 men killed the game really but we showed a bit of fight, Derby are really shit as well we'll be in similar positions come the end of the season. Was a good day out anyway, one day I might see us win at Derby! Sounds like a good 3 points for you lot, been saying for a while I'm waiting for the bubble to burst and there's no sign of it happening at the minute...

Best team by a distance again, 10 games now on the bounce where we've been the better side, no sign of the bubble bursting with what I'm watching

Another excellent display.
Totally dominant for 70 minutes although I think it might have been Reading being really poor instead of us being really good. We deserved more than the 2 goal lead. Reading risked it more and made a game of it for the last 20 minutes but we were still quite comfortable.

Then out of the blue (typical football) Reading score on 85 minutes, the last 5 minutes was really nervy with Reading being really positive pushing for the equaliser.

Relieved to win 2-1 but felt a bit dissapointed that we didn’t win by more.
We should have killed the game off in the first half but Wilder will learn.
