A really big Easter weekend ahead for us, got to be looking at 4 points minimum. I still maintain that we're just not good enough for the play offs. It does give us a fantastic platform for next season however.

Just had a look at the run ins - 82 points will be enough for whomever wants to join the top 3 club. So we need 8 from 7 games.

With our game at chesterfield today will not define our season but the next 3 over Easter will do to weather we make the top 3 or not so it's Wycombe (h) Accrington (a) Coventry (h) so here's hoping for at least 7 points from them games.

We were well beaten at Chesterfield, so I wouldn't be counting chickens just yet. Its on Sky too so setup to be a real bogey match. Dropping points would complete an almost perfect weekend for us.

Easter is significant for every team - it is when leagues are won. If we can take 4 points from Colchester and Mansfield over the Easter weekend, we're virtually there. Anything more is a real bonus.

Good Friday:
Colchester United v Luton Town
Lincoln City v Exeter City
Mansfield Town v Accrington Stanley
Newport County v Coventry City
Notts County v Wycombe Wanderers
Swindon Town v Morecambe

The fixture computer has come up with some Bank Holiday humdingers. Some points are going to be dropped there!

Win at Newport and we’re right back in the hunt for the automatics. Unbeaten in 6 now from a run of games that included Mansfield, Luton and Wycombe, and our biggest win of the season yesterday. We might just be hitting form at the right time. Our remaining fixtures are reasonably favourable, but we’ve struggled against the poorer sides this season. Need to win 6 of 8 if we want to be serious about going up automatically really.

Perfect weekend for ourselves and Accrington.

We can both as good as secure it next weekend.

If, and this is an almighty big if we can get at least 3 points from Accrington and Luton we might still have a chance if we can pick ourselves up off the floor as after that we've midtable or below teams.

If, as expected we get fuck all from them both were going to be lucky to be anywhere near the playoffs

Next weekend is basically massive for Notts. Have to win to have any chance of an automatic. Lose and we will be scrapping for a play off spot

All that might be true, but yourselves, us, Lincoln and Notts County are all saying they’ve blown it. We can’t all be wrong. At the moment the certs are Luton, Accy and, IMO, Coventry. Wycombe and Exeter look good for POs. So 2 spots up for grabs between us no-hopers.

And that's with you throwing your bloody managerial grenade at us, and doing the double over us.

Fuck you! Lol

You chose him - you put up with the consequences!

We’ve got an easy looking run in, but with our defence we’re always likely to fuck up spectacularly.

Oh! for a crystal ball: as I see it, it's still all to play for, there is no such thing as an easy run in, Wycombe would have expected a win today against chesterfield but teams fighting for survival can be harder to beat than teams at the top, mabe things may become a bit clearer after the easter weekend

10th Carlisle(39) - 57 points. Cheltenham(A), Lincoln(H), Swindon(A), Morecambe(A), Luton(H), Port Vale(A), Newport(H)

Can't imagine Accrington were too disappointed with this weekend's scores. The teams in 3rd and 4th drop points, the teams in 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th drop points. Nudges them closer to promotion. They did drop to 2nd, but they have 2 games in hand on Luton. We're about to see if they have what it takes to go up, got a very tough run in. Luton are back on top after beating Barnet. Got some tricky away games coming up though, so it'll be interesting to see if their wobble is behind them.

Suppose Wycombe can't be too disappointed with 4 points from Crawley and Port Vale. With Notts County losing today, their 4 point cushion remains intact. Avoid defeat at Meadow Lane on Friday and their next 2 look very favourable. As for County, their home form should keep them in the hunt. A win for them on Friday would make things very interesting.

Can't discount Exeter either though, back to back wins puts them level with County and they've played a game less than both them and Wycombe. Their run in looks kind, 5 mid-table teams and a struggler. Be huge if they can grab a win at Lincoln on Friday. Coventry aren't a million miles away either, they've come into some form at the right time. Like Exeter, a good return next weekend could see them back in the automatics hunt.

Then we come to the battle for that 7th spot, which it seems nobody wants. Mansfield are winless(clueless? :shifty:) under Flitcroft at the moment, 5 without a win now is it? Top 2 next up, they could be on the outside looking in come a week on Tuesday. Still, Lincoln blew the chance to move back into the play offs by only drawing 0-0 at Morecambe. Their run in looks tough, but a win against Exeter probably gives them the shot in the arm they need. God only knows what version of Swindon will show up next week. If they can get a win over the ever unpredictable Morecambe on Friday, their run in looks kind, but can they find the consistency to get into the top 7 and stay there?

Carlisle bring up the rear(no giggling in the back!), still got a very slim chance, but their 2 home draws with Cambridge and Crawley have likely killed their chances. Still, not out of it yet, and with the 3 teams above them hardly in consistent form, they've got a chance.

What a Good Friday we've got. 6 pointers galore at the top and bottom. Mansfield v Accrington, Notts County v Wycombe, Lincoln v Exeter. Should be a good'un.

Don't think we're saying we've blown it - we're still in with a decent chance albeit a tough run-in. We've been pretty consistent in our comments this season that we're missing a bit of something.

Mansfield and Notts would certainly have blown it if they miss out, the latter in particular. You, like us, seem to have been more 'around' than 'in' this season.

I'd revise that down 1 point for the "predicted automatics" as a lot of teams are now up against each other during the run in.

Easter will decide whether we have anything left for a top 3 challenge, if we don’t win both our games or at least get 4 points we will have to hope we can cling to a PO spot.

We are terrible on TV so the PO’s themselves will be pointless for us!

Hope not. To finish on 82 and only get to the dreaded 4th place would be heartbreaking. I'd rather squeak into 7th on 76 points.

And we play Morecambe at home which given how inconsistent we are is hardly a gimme, but gives us a decent chance to get right back into the play-off shake up.

In our run in we only have 1 top 9 side to play and that’s Accrington at home on the last day of the season. Hopefully Phil Brown can inspire us to a strong start to the season. Nothing against Mansfield at all but would be equally amusing if we were to push Flitcroft out of the promotion push completely!

Flitcroft could end the season guiding 2 sides out of the play offs.

What a manager!

If we fall out of the play offs he’s got no excuses and wants sacking. Evans left us 7 points ahead of 8th place and 4 games on without a win we now look likely to be the side to drop out of it.

We’ve got Accrington and Luton over Easter, to have any chance whatsoever of challenging for 3rd we need 4-6 points. 3 or less and it’s play offs at best.

Our home form has got to hold up for us to be in with a chance. Think we’ll do enough at ML to get a play-off place (and for us home advantage in the second leg would also be really important), but for automatics we’ve probably got to win all four and then be scrambling around for some points on the road somewhere.

Easy to be completely downbeat after how bad we were at Chesterfield, but beat Wycombe on Friday and we’re right back in it.

he's going to have the fans on his back right from the get go next season if that occurs and he's still here
