I remember thinking Manny Oyeleke was OK. Not good enough to keep a spot in the mighty Exeter team obviously but not a bad player. Glad he's making something of himself in the Northern provinces. :fish:

When he is fit he is outstanding more often than not... we had a strange stat that we lost every game he didn't play until Oldham Away late October last season and lost only once when he did play prior to Boxing Day... but he has had so many injury problems, did his hammy second game of the season... came back and lasted 9 minutes so has had to have an operation.

Been at St Georges Park this week and will be training next week again which will be a boost.

We can actually go from a three man midfield down to two with him in it and not get over run!

Personally don’t think we are good enough to make the play offs and I’d be surprised if we beat Morecambe away tonight. Let’s be honest we should never have won at Stevenage on Saturday. We don’t create enough chances or score enough goals.

Lets just hope we just keep in the mix for the remainder of the season and then you never know I guess!

The weather looks atrocious tonight, if it survives the rainfall this afternoon up there it will be a slog again with high winds. Could be a tough night but hopefully the win late Saturday gives us a boost.

They are not as solid defensively as Stevenage (think they have the worst defensive record) so hopefully we can prevail. Pope has a good record against them and we seem to generally do ok at their place (far better than against them at home anyway!)

Chris. Sorry, but at the moment that looks an even worse "investment" than pouring your whole pension pot into FlyBe shares!

Vale have exactly the same problem we had last year. We beat the entire top half at least once last season except for Bury and Exeter but 13th placed Swindon were the only bottom half side we beat away from home last year. We failed to show up against the poorer sides though and were made to pay. Plus our away form last year was diabolical too and I'm sure Vale are nowhere near as strong on the road as they are at home.

It's a free for all but I can see Plymouth having the strength in depth to breakaway from the rest of us. I can't see Swindon messing up a Top 3 finish now but the jury is out on Exeter as they have form for collapsing mid-season. Still a lot of football to be played though. Think 80 will be good enough for Top 3 but you're looking at mid-high 70s for playoffs unless two or three teams really lose form.

Don't recall one person (certainly not a Vale fan anyway) at any point saying we will reach the auto's...

ok mate

If we win Tuesday that 8 point gap to 11th is big so then it’s a mini league. We’ve got Morecambe A and Orient H so two huge but winnable games. Win those and with teams likely to drop points, for eg Crewe play Cheltenham so one of them or both will lose points there and having got within three points of FGR we can put pressure on.

So where is the auto's mentioned in that? I said "IF" we win the two game we would put pressure on and open a large gap to 11th.

Can all Vale fans just not post in this thread?

Every time the play off word gets mentioned we fall to a disappointing defeat.

It was the same in Page's season in L1... we kept getting to within 3 points then put in a shitter! Think we need to morph into Carlisle fans and become uber negative and see if that works!

What people said were Vale have a chance of challenging for the playoffs, and given how there isn't a lot in it from 3rd down. if they can hit a run of form they aren't far off that either.

For some reason Devon Lad took this as a reason to act like a c***.

After two great wins and two big away followings at Burton and Salford in the last two matches, I’m expecting a right battle against Morecambe tomorrow. There does seem to be something good building here at Sixfields, and a very good spirit around the place.

Have to win.

Mixed bag for the teams in and amongst it today.

Can see Swindon, Exeter and Argyle being the top 3 come the end of the season.

Three games on Tuesday night;

Col U v Bradford
Orient v Northampton
Macclesfield v Crewe

Great chance for us at Orient, must win if we want to have a bash at the top 3

Played more games then 7 of the top 8, not looking like we'll be in this thread too much longer.

Big win for us today vs another team amongst it all. We now have some winnable games Macc, Scunthorpe, Orient, Walsall, Oldham and Crawley before we play Plymouth away in mid February.

If we can get the win at Macc on Tuesday the top two will be back in our sights.
