Im hoping our comfortable win on your own patch will sow a few seeds of doubt into your players for the next few games.
Id love to get autos and see Darrell win the play offs, but annoyingly Sutton and Northampton just aint going away.

We’ll see if it does. Today was not really a reason for our players to lose their confidence. Just on the wrong end of the scoreline in what was a very competitive battle (you were the better team I should say).

Good thing for us is it’s a Midland Derby with Walsall and after what a lot of their fans chanted about DC in the first game I’ve no doubt our team are going to be very fired up to put them in their place.

The danger with that is they will be equally fired up when under normal circumstances they would be on the beach.
One thing is for sure you are still in the best place for autos and cant see you dropping many points with your front two

Its shit or bust for us, we need to get promotion or could lose some decent players in the summer along with the current 3 loan regulars.

Same with us. Keeper and centre half likely be off, the life of a lower league fan eh.

Still think Exeter will go up automatically but they will have a huge say on the 3rd place spot. Away at us for our penultimate game and home against Vale on the last day. We have a great record against them at Sixfields so despite what I thought over the last few games we could still sneak 3rd. Still some crazy results to come over the last 3 weeks.

Have to beat Orient on Saturday.

TBH even if we go up I could see Roberts leaving. Hes been better than Adam Smith was in our title winning season IMO. Been immense.

Both our CB's are on loan, 20 years old and playing their first league season. Both absolute rocks though. Either way we will have to do a rebuild for next season.

Right, we deserve a bit of respect. Everyone has written us off time and again (including me/our own fans at points) and there was a pile on on here after the Mansfield game about how crap we were, and yet we will not go away. Other teams who were up there (Swindon, Newport, Tranmere) have fallen away and are battling to get into the playoffs/stay in the last spot and yet we’re bubbling away nicely in 4th with a slim chance of the autos.

21 wins, 21 clean sheets, not bad for a dogshit side.

I purely commented on how bad you were against Mansfield and that still stands, I’m not surprised
to still see you there and about.

Saying a team were crap in a game does not translate to a dogshit side, I know us football fans like to make our own story up sometimes though so I get it!

The fact we’re in a better place now than we were at 2:55 this afternoon is mind boggling. Just win the the next 2. That’s all we have to do.

Yes, not often you can lose and still feel generally happy with the day.

Pressure is really on now after today. Have to hope the injuries clear up and Pett at the least is back as we ended up with our midfield central three consisting of a centre half and a winger/striker.

Worrall looked miles off fitness today as well which is a worry although believe he was ill over the weekend.

Massive game at Walsall now, win that and it could be comfy again, Northampton have two very tough games and hopefully FGR are pumped up to get promotion over the line.

Win the last three and it’s irrelevant what anyone else does but we need a big improvement on todays dour effort.

DL doesn't think so. He thought we would win the title at Northampton.

Port Vale have to make the most of playing a Walsall team who can't string any decent performances or results together - they will have a good following there though which should give the players a boost.

Northampton basically have to beat us next week, because the game after that against Exeter could be HUGE.

Fair play to Sutton since their Wembley game, 3 wins in a row and a win at Barrow on Saturday and Suddenly their game in hand at home to Crawley (which is very winnable) could see them in poll position with 2 games left.

Walsall’s cup final though. They hate us since we took the Dazzler. Randomly trebled their usual away following to us in the return fixture and have a weird obsession with us.

It’ll be tough, it’s must win now and hope for a few favours elsewhere.

I feel like people are massively overlooking Northampton and especially Sutton.

The remaining fixtures are (bold being the game in hand):

Exeter: Rochdale (h), Barrow (a), Northampton (a), Vale (h)
Vale: Walsall (a), Newport (h), Exeter (a)
Northampton: Orient (a), Exeter (h), Barrow (a)
Rovers: FGR (h), Rochdale (a), Scunthorpe (h)
Sutton: Barrow (a), Crawley (h), Bradford (h), Harrogate (a)

Exeter will undoubtedly beat Rochdale & Barrow meaning promotion will be sealed by the time Northampton & Vale come around, making it vital that we beat FGR not just for our own promotion chances, but so Exeter still have something to fight for.

Vale could really go either way. Those last 2 games could be really tough, or could be really easy..

Northampton, I wouldn't want to be playing Orient away right now. Then Exeter depends on whether they're up or not, potentially.

Ourselves, on paper get past FGR and its in the bag - but we all know it doesn't work like that.

Sutton have the easiest games on paper and are probably the most in form team in the division, if I had to put any money on anyone getting maximum points - I'd put it on Sutton, personally.

Sutton have sneaked under the radar, they were pretty awful at our place three weeks back but have done well since. 7 points probably does it for us with our GD but this weekend looks the best chance for us to make headway on a couple of teams below us. If we can open up at 4 point gap come 5PM Saturday then il fancy us to get the job done against Newport… if we don’t then play offs looks more likely.

Exeter play us at Home not Away - they didn't manage to beat us at home last season - in fact they have not beat us anywhere since 1972.

Our run in makes it very tough for us. 7 points is a big ask, particularly as injuries are starting to show up again. I'm settling for the playoffs, with anything else a bonus.

I would rather have the points on the board personally. Think you guys are still favourites for 3rd spot.

Our game in hand vs Barrow is at home.

With two home games against bottom half teams, really should see us up before we have to play Northampton, but I expect we will be nervy going into Saturday.

Bottom line is we’re still in a fantastic position, a decent goal difference and a game in hand. Football is bloody stressful though!!

I really couldn’t call who will get 3rd. Bristol Rovers look a good bet now, but I can also see Vale winning at Walsall which puts them in a good position. And Northampton seem to be relentless! Really don’t want to have to go to Sixfields needing a result.

Saturday is crucial now, if we can get a win by hook or by crook then I would fancy us again as Sky have done us a huge favour... after Saturday 9 days before Newport so can give the boys a few days off and should have Gibbons and Pett back and Wozza and Hussey up to speed for the final 2 games.

Hopefully FGR and Orient do us a favour and we can re-open a 4/5 point gap then its ours so feels like Saturday will be decisive one way or the other.

In the main after a defeat this season we've come back strong.

Meh - i know we're at the other end of the table - but you're run in is way easier than ours - so stop moaning...
our games to play before last Friday were FGR, Salford, Sutton, Exeter, Swindon and Northampton

I was convinced PV were going to easily take 3rd, and was pretty worried about them overtaking us, but I guess the weekend has opened things up a bit.

Desperate for those 2 home wins so we can relax and enjoy the final 2.

Keep seeing this stuff about our run-in and while it’s not easy it’s not exactly impossible either. Walsall are done for the season, they put all their efforts into beating us last time and this time we will be ready for them. Newport there is a decent chance their season for all intents and purposes will be over by the Monday we play and Exeter will be up by then (and they’re not winning the title now). Win all three of them and what others do is irrelevant. If we don’t and end up in the playoffs the season is still a huge success.

No of course not, this team is capable of winning all three and putting runs like that together regularly under DC, 7 points likely is enough and that required Cobblers to go to Orient and beat Exeter and Rovers to win all 3.
