Exeter will do well to win their next 3. We’ll beat Harrogate I reckon and a lot will depend on whether Mansfield have already secured their play off place. If they have they might not be that up for it. If we win at either Bristol Rovers or Swindon then we are very strong favourites and could have it wrapped up before Exeter play Vale.

We just can't handle the truth. So what went wrong Saturday? You have left yourselves with a very big ask as Chris says.
What are you on about Saturday? 1) We didn't play on Saturday 2) I was still posting on Sunday before the snowflakes got involved. Has the lack of meat and animal products given you insufficient vitamins leading to memory loss and brain issues?

(Is that a politer and acceptable way of saying it, Lancashire Trotters?)

We're going to win the league, nothing has changed.

I'd be amazed if the last automatic promotion spot required more than 81 points. If anyone gets to 82 from here then fair play to them. 2 of the last 3 seasons it has been below that and the other one was worked out on a points per game.
We seem to think 75 points should seal a playoff position. I would hope we can get a few more to be safe!

Definitely in with a shout of the playoffs....automatic you've got no chance I'm afraid.

I see Clough has started blaming decisions not only against his own side but also decisions that went for rivals like us as part of the reason that you've dropped off.

We all have ups and downs in terms of referees and we have had our fair share of luck in terms of decisions recently but then we've had decisions go against us too. A stonewall penalty against Salford comes to mind but I'll bet there will be more. There's nothing wrong with critiquing a referee's performance (I did on Monday)but it strikes of desperation when you're using it as a reason for being where you are.

Ultimately the best teams will finish in the top places irrelevant of refereeing decisions. Even if a decision has gone against them, they are usually good enough to overcome the opposition anyway.

I would take that, certainly sets it up nicely for giving us to have something to prove and give the game a bit of an edge. Rovers v Cobblers final would get a very decent crowd as well, although it is only in the last couple of weeks our wider fanbase really seems to be getting bothered about our prospects.
Although we have taken 6 points off you id rather avoid Northampton for that reason, as it will do your team talk for you!!
Would be a good final though for sure

Clough is fuming with the players more than anything, although I will say we’ve not had our bad decisions / good decisions evened out this season, monday game in particular was taking the piss.

Clough always bemoans referees and always has done, although blaming Garrity not seeing red v Oldham and referring to a Handball in the Port Vale match at Hartlepool isn’t really the reason they’ve lost a couple on the spin now so it’s quite a strange outburst to have.

I’m sure Mansfield have had a few decisions for for them this season.

I hate a moaning manager, especially when it’s unwarranted but Clough has always been very fair and honest during his time here.

Yes we’ve had a few decisions go for us, but it’s not evened it’s self out this season. He’s not blaming losing a couple due to what you mention, let’s be sensible.

Not that it matters but it was the most obvious handball you'll ever see, luckily for Port Vale we had a ref with pickled onions for eyes.

I'm sure that decisions have probably evened themselves out over the course of the season but as a fan you tend to remember the decisions that go against you rather than those that go for you.

The best sides prevail irrelevant of refereeing decisions. It seems odd of Clough to make such a big thing of it and also to dissect the decisions against other teams.

I would imagine he's either feeling the pressure or its to cause some influence potentially on referee's for the last games in the games involving rivals (Mind games).

They haven’t evened themselves out, but I’ll agree that generally irrespective of shocking refereeing decisions it doesn’t affect a team going up or not.

Was only a few season ago we lost to Newport in the play-offs and the officials missed about three red cards mind, but you can always argue about all the missed chances by our players too.

The ref gifted you 4 points from both our meetings. That opening game i'm surprised he didn't offer to take the spot kick himself!
We are in the same boat though; referee decisions have lost us far more points than we have won. Oldham scored a goal that was over the line and wasnt given - they won anyway. Cant think of much else in our favour, must be the Barton effect.

The ref also gave Mansfield the win at their place when we played them, what they're doing is having selective memory of decisions that have gone against them that are unfavourable, and like most teams, and forgetting the ones that you get that perhaps you shouldn't have. Every fan does it. Plus the natural bias you get at the time with thinking some incidents aren't a foul/offside etc but the identical situation happens against you and you claim it was offside or a foul.

Or maybe, considering I tend to watch every Mansfield game I have a better idea of what’s gone for and against us? Revolutionary I know daft lad. I regularly get in to a bit of ‘debate’ with fellow stags fans in my block when they shout bias nonsense regarding decisions

No sorry, you’ve got selective memory and Bristol Rovers have definitely 100% had atleast as much go for them than against this season, The Exeter fan says so.

You watch every Mansfield fan through the lens of a Mansfield fan. That's exactly the point, daft lad.

Harsh, in the game at our place the ref gave us a throw in when it should have been Mansfield’s. I’d call it even

Sounds like we need to get Devon Lad in the Ian Greaves Upper tier to understand how not every fan is ridiculously bias. All guilty of it sometimes no doubt, but some make more of a effort to take it down a few notches, you should try it mate.
