Vale had the ideal fixture today newport nowt to play for
Exactly. You cant take anything for granted in football
Shame about Salford isn't it.
Odds on that two clubs will seal promotion against Barrow this season..
Another incentive for Barrow as I doubt they will want to see the opposition celebrating in front of them twice in quick succession.

I think Rovers have to be in the box seat now. They've got the ideal fixture. As has been proved by today with a good performance by Newport who had nothing to play for, Barrow won't be easy for Northampton and they gave both Exeter and us a big scare.

I'll be off to Walsall more out of hope than expectation. They have won 5 out of 6 at home so that isn't a gimme either. Just great to be part of it!
I am going to this game - mate of mine is a saddler. I can see them been more of a force next season as Flynn is a good manager. Should be a good atmosphere with the big away following and Walsall fans probably turning out to piss on your parade like they did against vale.
Looking forward to this.

Only ourselves to blame. We don’t deserve to finish in the top 3. We’ve had enough chances to cement third and we decide to blow it instead. We’ve lost 3 in a row at such an important time.

It’s all just so typical Vale. It’s as if misery, disappointment and frustration follows this club. At 1-1 any other team chasing promotion goes on to get the winner. We somehow lost the game.

We now go to Exeter needing something to guarantee play offs. Not a great position to be in.

However, life goes on. The sun will still rise tomorrow. Congratulations on whoever finishes 3rd. The table doesn’t lie.

Aye I should be surprised but then it’s Vale and it’s what we do. I’m most annoyed at that first half. To come out and play like that knowing what was at stake is unforgivable.

At least we’re not Scunny or Oldham though feel like am clutching at straws with that one this evening.

Would you be happy/understand if we met in the PO semis and only gave you the seats in the corner of the Arkells stand - keeping Stratton Bank for home fans? Apparently, the ‘rule’ is 2000 or 10%, whichever is the lower.

I havent been to Swindon since that abandoned 'biblical rain' match. How many would that corner give us?
Easier to just give us behind the goal and not have to worry about segregation? :bg:

Looking at the ground map for tickets I'm not sure that the Walsall fans have got the turning out memo yet

The open Bank is 2,100. About 1,000 in the corner of the covered stand.

Vale won't get in the playoffs now. No chance that we'll get a point at Exeter and the teams below us will get the points they need. 1 promotion in 30 years. Other teams would have absolutely walked 3rd place from where we were on good Friday.

Cheer up Vale, you could have been potential champions shipping three and four like some teams I might mention. Best to go out and smash Exeter next week and all will be forgotten.

But you got over the line with ease. Honestly I don't know why I didn't just support Liverpool or someone like my mates. The league's least successful club strikes again.

I think 1000 is a bit tight in a ground capacity of almost 16k?
Lot of clubs in the POs are restricting away numbers. Sunderland v Sheffield Wednesday have both capped away fans to 2000 - as have Franchise v Wycombe - the fuckers have also split the 2000 up into separate parts of the stadium

Love to be able give you some cause for optimism but looking at how we came out to play today when we needed it most I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Will probably feel differently about it tomorrow but right now I feel the writing is on the wall.

Never give in. It’s the joys of supporting a lower league club. I couldn’t even muster the energy to go our game as we are so bad. But come rain and shine I will be there next season. And so will you. Always get more respect for been a true fan than a plastic bin dipper or Man U fan. Keep the faith. It’s not over yet.

Quite probably yes but mentioning that you’re really not helping with my mood right now :(

As I said, any other team in any other league would have sealed promotion by now given our position on good Friday. This was a huge chance and we won't have a better chance for a few years now considering who is joining this league.

We basically downed tools once we went behind for a second time, whereas a point would have guaranteed a playoff position.

Tranmere in 2012/13 was a good one, they were top after 31 games and finished 11th

Niether are barrow ,scunny might want to go !out in a blaze of glory its all ifs and buts on saturday nobody knows except adam of course cos he knows all, fook all

And I stated that I thought Barrow would give Northampton a good game regardless of the fact they have nothing to play for. Of course there is a chance Scunthorpe might pull off a shock on Saturday but I doubt it.
