Unbeaten in 4 now, 2 wins and 2 draws. The last two performances have been more like our previous selves earlier on in the season.

There’s no reason why we shouldn’t still be up there in my opinion. There’s still a long way to go, we’ve got 19 games to play yet.

I thought we’d had our first home win against a top 8 side.. then realised the win pushed Swindon down to 9th..

Oh well.

51 points from 23 games against everyone outside the playoffs.. so if Newport/Mansfield etc could kindly drop to 8th when we play them that’d be appreciated.

Noticed from DC's interview after the game he said Conlon and Gibbo are not a million miles away from being back in contention as well as Proctor back in training fully. We may finally get to see our strongest side out on the pitch for the first time in a long time.

Nothings ever guaranteed but if we can finally get a bit of luck with injuries it's there for us definitely.

Certainly looking more solid in the playoffs than we did a few games ago.
Need to keep the run going and there are plenty of banana skins ahead

9 home league home wins in a row for the 1st time since 1973 (we did win 12 in the conference but non league stuff doesn’t count).

We did all we can with the 3 points now before successive saturday trips to bristol rovers, newport and bradford which will be the test of where we’re at, at the worst we’ll probably be just outside the playoffs which would still be an amazing achievement.

Even after those games we have successive friday night games at home to exeter and away to tranmere, and even then we will still need to play FG twice (including at home last game of the season)

There we go then, like you said that’s the run to see if you’re serious contenders for the autos. If you’re still hanging around after that you’ll be well in the shake up.

Our next 5 are

Vale (a)
Col U (h)
Scunny (a)
Dale (a)
Walsall (h)

IF we can pick up 3 or 4 wins there which will be tough I’ll start to think we can stay the course

we won’t be, hope i’m wrong but we won’t be.

Even after tranmere away on the friday we’re away to port vale on the tuesday!

We do have a very decent squad, we’ve one of the best managers in the lower leagues, to be where we are is remarkable in itself after the start to the season to be within a point of the autos when we didn’t win for 12 games is some going.

To put into context after 15 games we had 14 points in the last 13 games we’ve picked up 34!

8 of our next 10 are away.

Brovers
Newport
Bradford
Exeter (H)
Tranmere
Port Vale
Stevenage (H)
Rochdale
Oldham
Hartlepool

If we are still in the top 7 after that lot I'll be ecstatic but then we go into a tough final month with Forest Green home and away, Northampton and Sutton. I'd take 7th now.

Our next games are

Bradford (11th) A
Harrogate (13th) H
Barrow (19th) H
Bristol Rovers (14th) A
Mansfield (5th) A
Swindon (9th) H
Salford (10th) H
Crawley (12th) H

I'd like to think we could be in the top 3 at the end of that run, with just 3 of our next 8 games being away.

I’ll also happily take 7th right now, considering our run in and I’m sure injuries are due shortly.

Looks good for at least play-off spot, minimum.
Expect Exeter to be best of the rest.
FGR & Tranmere are both likely candidates for auto and Northampton are bobbling around for that last 3rd spot.

I really don't want another Wembley outing.

Look to the positive.
A victory at Wembley is probably the most prestigious league win of season.
Probably gets as much, if not more, publicity for that one game than most other teams get throughout the season. Back page of the national newspapers and all that.

And ANOTHER Wembley defeat is definitely the most depressing game of the season.
I enjoyed our last one
I'm sure you did, but don't feel special, everyone apart from Cambridge beat us at Wembley.

We’re just hanging on aren’t we? I feared we were going to start dropping away and looking like the playoffs but we have just righted the ship slightly…

If we can get something at Vale Saturday I’ll be feeling very optimistic

We took our foot off the gas in our final 5 or 6 games when we won it.
Similar with us last season, we had back to back wins at Cheltenham and Orient in October and so took our foot off the gas for the rest of the season.

I’m still not confident about us. We could be promoted and playing our first game in League One and I still wouldn’t be confident!
