Obviously psf mean nothing unless you’re still doing all the same things that led to relegation form for an entire half a season.

For all the good things off the pitch we feel like a bit of a basket case at the moment.

This is pretty much Carlisle United, but change entire half season to entire full season.

0:0 against Middlesborough. The defence was solid but the question remains, where are the goals going to come from?

After all my talk about not doing PSF’s my lads talked me into going with him tomorrow, fuck it I’m missing football so I can go and get a gauge of just how shite we’re gonna be this year. :bg:

I am now going as well, bit of a random decision but a few were going for the day for a few beers so thought would get train across.

It’ll be odd going to grimsby for a friendly, that’s for sure.

Yeah a weekend piss up in Cleethorpes is pretty decent to be honest, although after days and days of Sun it’s absolutely pissing it down right now.
There’s this food market thing going on down the seafront all this week if you get the chance to head up there it’s well worth a look some cracking food on offer.

Final friendly against Bolton today at VP. Expect something close to our first choice XI for a half but also still got a couple of triallists Moore has said will make a decision on after the game so would imagine they’ll get a fair bit of time as well.

Most importantly just hope for no injuries.

We can’t go into the season with Sam Austin and Cedwyn Scott as first teamers

I think the Mansfield fans need reminding that this is a friendly they’re getting a little bit excited and carried away. If they score they’re actually gonna celebrate like it’s a league game.

Lost 1-0 to Mansfield, we were really good in the first half I was really encouraged by it but Mansfield absolutely hammered us in the second half and should have won by more really.

2-0 win over Northampton to end pre-season.

Final table will be published Tuesday morning as I'm off work Monday.

Lost 3-0 to Bolton, sounded a couple of really bad errors defensively which is a concern going into the season and 6/7 key players missing through injury which is not ideal going into the season, especially as we have to go into it potentially with a couple of liabilities at the back.

Lost 2-0 to Blackpool. Gulf in quality showed as they looked fitter and sharper in everything they did. Nothing positive to shout about for us as the players looked half arsed. Hopefully saving themselves for next weekend. Concern is that 8 players weren't considered fit enough to play and it's touch and go on a few of them whether they'll make next week.

Lost 1-0 and 4-3 to Peterborough in 2 matches. Ok performances apparently but a lot of triallists on show for this close to the season.

Also Sam Slocombe please retire. Please.

A bit of a bizarre exercise that, says a lot that we need 5 trialists in order to put out a second XI - we’re limping into the season when it comes to squad depth - hopefully it’s all under control and signings are lined up for this week

Agreed the first for ability and effectiveness reasons, the second more for sharpness reasons.

Some Notts fans have Scott has a diet version of that Langstaff fella but I'm not convinced. 50:50 on him being first teamer or not. That's probably down to the fact he's improved as a player in their eyes whilst being out injured for basically a whole season.

We drew 1-1 at Woking in an utter bore fest.
We need some of our injured players back sooner rather than later.

Always make noise wherever we go, though the dive was absolute quality, deserved the yellow, was laughing for a while on that

Thought the first half was pretty even and grimsby really went at it, what was the issue with danny rose coming on for 10 mins and going back off?

2nd half whether it be a flea in the ear from clough or a plan we upped the game and with respect grimsby didn’t get anywhere close, we dominated thoroughout- our finishing was shite though.

A bit different on friday night away at barnsley with 3,000 plus in the away end.

Wish grimsby the best for the season x
