Lost 2-5 to a strong Brentford team. Three of their goalscorers played in the Prem last whilst the other was their record signing a few weeks ago.

Both our goals were headers from Joe Lewis and Matty Stevens.

Lost 3-1 to Duisburg. Tough one to judge as their season starts this week so they went full strength, probably most telling that nearly all of our subs are youth team players at the moment - looking really light

Lost 2-1 at York in a performance that sounds like absolute toilet.
I blame the trialists myself…….. :bg:

Including youth players I think we've lost twelve and signed seven. Midfield looks nowhere near good enough to me as Palmer still can't do contact. Also heard a whisper that Spurs are sniffing around James Sanderson which may explain why he's been missing all our matches.

Lost 1-0 at Bath. Apparently an error from Ripley. Only thing would say on it is looking at a few of the names in the squad down there it’s a timely reminder there’s still a fair bit of deadwood to shift.

2-0 victory over Watford, goal in each half from a triallist and Jack Nolan. Good runout, 6 Academy boys involved over the course of the 90 minutes so a useful afternoon. Strong Watford side but won't read a thing into a pre-season result.

Beat Foley Meir 6-4 but sounds like that was u21/u18s game.

I'd expect the first teamers will be playing tommorow Vs Mallorca.

5-1 defeat to Plymouth today. Owen Evans howler to make it 3-1 after we'd looked quite good for 25-30 mins. Second half was a non-event after all the substitutions.

I read nothing into pre season. We beat Man United and they had a pretty strong team out one year and got relegated. At this stage, players are being beasted in training, so play these games at half pace. Haven't been to a friendly in over 10 years and don't intend to start now. It's essentially watching training.

Cracking day and incoming night out.

Game wise dunno how much you can take, it was so fucking hot. Was a good, competitive match for 65 mins that we probably edged, made a load of subs at that point with some youth team lads I’ve never heard of coming on and really we got cooked last 20 mins. Not sure they made a sub at all, clearly a couple of weeks ahead. Think we are clearly two or three short in terms of having the numbers for a properly competitive squad.

Always been a bogey team !

We will struggle next season without good recruiting.

Losing some decent players and the squad is quite weak .

Lost 0-3 at home to Sheff U today, in a scoreline that flattered them tbh as I thought we more than matched them for much of the game and they only edged it in terms of performance really.

Was played like a proper game at times with real intensity with tackles flying in all over the place, which in some ways is really good, but in others, not so great as we came away with a few injuries. Madden’s done his calf apparently and words of our assistant is that ‘it looks like it’s a bad one’, but we’ll see after the scan. Our only right back Sheckleford picked up a knock too, so will probably speed up our search for an RB now (which was needed anyway), and Gordon / Palmer both came off with knocks too…

So yeah, not a great day really on the injury front but definitely some positives to take away from that performance against a side who were playing PL football last year.

Derby (H) on Wednesday, another tough test for us and one hopefully we’ll come out unscathed from…

Apparently them injuries aren't minor. I'm a tiny bit rattled

Yeah my guess would be that Madden & Shecks won’t be available come that first game against Swindon, and probably a few more after that too.

In all honesty, neither would be in my starting XI for that first game anyway (this is me assuming a RB will be signed before the season starts), so I’m not overly stressed, bur obviously not ideal.

Took on a Leeds United yesterday. It was a very enjoyable match in the sunshine and great to see players like James, Meslier, Summerville and Gnonto at Wetherby Road. Farke sent on local school boy Harry Gray for the last few minutes.

Unsurprisingly they were the best side but the 3:0 score flattered them. Town worked hard, the new recruits did well and Folarin's speed was too much for Ampadu. An encouraging show but we desperately need a strong CF

Sanderson played for the U23s/Academy at Loughborough yesterday, think he might have been injured but yeah it is weird he’s not been in any preseason content/photos

It's not easy getting rid of deadwood is it. We have some on very good contracts that have been told they are not in the managers plan, and unless we can move them on, it will hamper any future recruitment this summer, apart from a loan signing I understand we are close to clinching.

We made rash decisions to dish out expensive 3 year contracts a couple of years ago to the likes of Vadaine Oliver who have been flops , but still hanging about.

It was a bit of a non event really. Bath capitalised on Ripley coming out to meet a through ball and slipped over, leaving their lad the simple task of rounding him and tapping into an empty net.

Some neat exchanges of passing during the first half, but never really tested their keeper much. Baylee looked lively, small black lad on trial looked nippy and pacy, Hall and Garrity both got booked for naughty challenges... Tolaj has got great touches and is skilful, but tried a little too much sometimes.

Second half, I think they forced Ripley into what he turned into a camera save (could've caught it, IMO) and had one that flashed just over from distance. Jones and Sang haven't changed. Poor footballers and surrendered possession a few times with stray passes. Two trialists at the back, I wouldn't bother with. Left back looked shite, LCB looked okay, quite quick but dawdled on the ball too often and did nothing but play the same 5-10 yard pass with his left foot to either Ripley or Jones, and got caught out with a few balls over the top which his pace bailed him out of.

Ojo looked no different. Once on the ball, decent, recycled it well and got us out of some tight situations. Without it, looked half arsed, dangling a leg into tackles and not really looking arsed. Stockley didn't have great service but battled well and won a few flick ons. Shorrock probably had our best effort that was well saved by their keeper.

Bath then spent the last 20-25 minutes just repeatedly booting it 40 yards up the pitch hoping to win the foot race over the top down the channels. Made it quite a poor watch. Don't think we ever looked like scoring bar a Stockley header that flashed wide and a ball that was fizzed across the box but no one could get on the end of it.

More minutes in the tank. Hope Hart's knock was just that and he was taken off as a precaution because there's no point taking risks in pre season.

We’ve got loads and not shifted any of it yet alarmingly. Our squad is quite big and there’s a good 4/5 we should have off the book really

Stockport have pulled out of our friendly on Tuesday, citing a change to their training schedule.
