Well that was that. It’s been an amazing ride, and we deserved to go out.

Well done England. Up until the first goal we were doing fine, looking like every game we play. But you can’t, ever, concede a set piece when you’re pegged back like we were. And to be fair, you can’t come up against a keeper like Pickford. He made three quality saves today and you beat us if you do. We usually score one, sometimes two. But the minute we went down you just knew.

It was a deserved win for England and I’ve enjoyed the ride immensely, from the qualifiers up until here. On another day we give a better account of ourselves but c’est la vie.

I think firstly commiserations to the Sweden fans on here, fantastic to get to the 1/4 finals, a great togetherness in your squad, your manager has them wired perfectly.

As for us, wow, just wow. We’re in the semi finals of a World Cup, never mind World Cup, semi finals of anything!!!

Whilst some players weren’t at their best in the first half, second half I thought we were excellent. Shout outs to Pickford, Young, Trippier, Sterling, Macguire, Henderson and Stones. And that was the stand out performances, the others were excellent as well.

Being born in 1991 this is by far the best thing I’ve ever seen as an England fan. I don’t think it’s sunk in yet.

I am a bit nervous for the semis though, my girlfriend is Croatian and We’re just off to meet more Croatians to watch the game. Could be a bit tense...

Always been very fond of Sweden and they played the game in the right spirit today and could easily have had a goal. QF is a fine achievement, especially given the tough group you were drawn in.

Russia have their whole country behind them which counts for a lot; Croatia are better defensively and in midfield; and France and Belgium are by some distance better sides than the English. I'm not worried in the slightest, and in fact will love the inevitable tears when they flop.
