Real and Bayern? lol that was United fans after he said he won't sign the contract. Maybe I remember it differently

It seems like you do! Getting into City's XI is a hell of a lot easier than getting into Bayern's or Real's.

TBH i think sterling will go (i know, very bold prediction) , but i think he probably shouldn't. As John Barnes said, he hasn't achieved anything, and if he's saying he wants trophies then go to Man.City or Chelsea and sit on the bench for eternity. His only option would be to go abroad somewhere in my opinion, so he might be able to win trophies and get in the starting XI week in, week out. PSG? Maybe, as Lavezzi and Cavani are apparently unsettled. Bayern? No way. Real? No. Barca? No. Juventus? Would be my choice. Roma? That's also quite possible.
Nah. He'll take 2 years to adapt to the defensive play. Just like Pastore.
Not sure what it is with the English but you just don't see them going abroad. And then when you see Joe Cole and Joey Barton actually doing it you go "really"?

deluded comment, one of the best in the world? are you basing it on watch you hear deluded English pundits say and copying them.........like you know how keepers in Italy, Spain and Germany are performing 3 far superior leagues.

Erm it's pretty obvious ain't it? Money. Players at clubs abroad outside a select group get a pittance compared to average premier league players wages, so why the fuck would they move abroad? Joe Cole was finished when he went Lille and Barton jumped ship to Marseille after coming off the back of a relegation with QPR. Yep they're definitely the cream of the crop we're exporting in those examples.

Your first mistake is taking any notice of John Barnes. Your next one is something you'll have to explain. Why on earth is he likely to be a bench warmer at City, but you make Juve the choice of destination as though he's got more chance of starting there?

United wont sign him anyway but there's better players for less money out there than what Liverpool will no doubt want for Sterling

I don't get that argument either. Either he's good enough to help Liverpool back to the top table and be a success, in which case he's good enough to be a success for any top four side, or he's not.

Yeah, it's impossible to watch Spanish, Italian and German football these days isn't it? It's also impossible to watch football and make your own mind up about a player without listening to pundits as well. Fantastic point well made.

thanks glad you agree.......now go switch on talk sport soft lad

"But hitting back today, Ward told the Standard he “didn’t care” about the club or its image, dismissed criticism by former players as “irrelevant” and branded Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher “a knob”."

Maybe this agent is alright after all.

I'm not convinced that Sterling has demonstrated he is an attractive enough prospect for a top level club at the global level. He has shown some ability, but his form has been less than dazzling to say the least over the course of his short career. He has occasionally looked impressive, but he hasn't yet looked like he belongs in the realm of the best in the world. And I think this is possibly why we have been reminded of his stance for the second or third time.
He's clearly very available. He clearly won't sign a contract. He clearly wants to leave Liverpool. None of those points have wavered in the last few months. But surely if there had been some solid interest his agent wouldn't be reminding everyone again.

Anyway, I expect there are better players to be had with the rumoured transfer fee and £100k+ a week, but Liverpool probably won't find him.

I'd only be annoyed if we lost him due to the potential he has. He showed at the back end of last season how he can thrive with others around him who suit his play, but this season there's been too much pressure on him and he hasn't handled it well. He's been average for a long time and if we could get £30-£40 mil for him then that could be spent getting a couple of decent signings in where we need to improve as long as it's spent wisely as Jordan Ibe can fill the void that Sterling will leave.

I hope we hold put firm for what we want in the deal and it has to be on our terms like what happened with Suarez.

Another name thats been linked with them consistently. He'll go to a regular CL club, as even though he isn't the player he was, he's still good enough for many teams at the highest level.

There's a lot of similarities in the way that Liverpool fans are now reacting to Sterling to the way that Southampton fans reacted to Lovren and Lallana a year a go. The only problem being that last year the high and mighty Liverpool fans weren't able to get their heads around why Southampton fans reacted to these players as they did.

I wonder if Rodgers stands by his claims that you can't deny players moves to Club's playing in the Champions League...

Nah, to me it's something a bit closer to home. The Brits did try to export themselves in the 70s and 80s and most of them failed. I'm not really convinced that even with money, we'll be buying British players. They have an awful track record in the league and we can get better players for less money.

Getting better players for less money is part n parcel of the same thing. English players will not go abroad because the money offered will not be as good because as you say you can get better for less. That's not exclusive to football either.

I'm pretty sure we can match whatever monies Chelsea and Man City throw at Sterling. But I still just can't see it happening for obvioius reasons.
We'll just sign some Brazilian dead ball genius or summat.

Yeah PSG can, my comments were aimed at the general export of British players. Also they have more value to clubs here for homegrown quotas so that attracts a fee increase that holds no value to foreign clubs.

I don't think half of Liverpool fans give a flying fuck if Sterling stays or goes tbh. Its not like he is Suarez.

Agreed, they're more interested in constantly reminding everyone how unbothered they are about being bothered about Sterling.

If Sterling leaves this summer I can see Liverpool getting at least £25m. Does his current deal expire next summer or 2017?

It really bothers me how people are either bothered or not bothered whether Sterling bothers to re-sign or doesn't bother.

And both are leagues ahead of wee Everton. ;)

According to Brendan Rodgers Sterling is staying. Which probably means he's leaving.

Just like LVG stating that De Gea is probably going to stay on at Manoo. They can't say anything else though can they.
