Just like LVG stating that De Gea is probably going to stay on at Manoo. They can't say anything else though can they.
Hmm maybe, I have a sneaky feeling De Gea might stay at Man.Utd. Remember that De Gea used to play for Atletico Madrid...
Although in fairness if another big club put a rather big offer in for him he might go.

And SALTIRE remember how much crap Brendan Rodgers says...

"Steven Gerrard will come back"
and lots more

Rodgers isn't wrong, Gerrard will be back in some capacity down the line. After all McManaman and Fowler are back there too, as is Dalglish so I can easily see Stevie back there in a few years.

I remember De Gea at Atletico well but I don't think he's a die hard Atleti or anything, and I think he will want to prove himself back in Spain at one of the big two just to show he is the Spanish #1 these days.

I hear you ask for more proof Rodgers talks rubbish:
"If you give a bad player time, he can play. If you give a good player time, he can kill you."
"You are in for a shock Louis!"
"Liverpool will not do a Tottenham"

And i think De Gea is a childhood Atletico fan, and was defiently at Atletico from the age of 13.

Well...
Louis Van Gaal's Manchester United are now certain to finish above Liverpool.
Liverpool HAVE done a Tottenham.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Yeah they can say he's going.

Not when they've got season tickets to sell.

When does the annual 'It's really REALLY happening this time' Ronaldo link to United start this summer?

More quality advice from his professional, level-headed agent no doubt. Come on City, offer that £50m and this ridiculous saga can be put behind us. But if that doesn't happen I hope it's made clear he's going on the tour regardless, given that he's under contract and likely legally obliged to do so short of very specific circumstances (and I doubt sulking like a 5 year old schoolchild is one). And if he physically refuses to go, he should be fined the maximum amount possible.

He's apparently called in sick to training today.

It would be quite amusing if City just told Liverpool to get stuffed with their £50m valuation, and left them to it.

I think City will go close to £50mil. Get him off our books and for that price it would be an amazing deal for us. Yea very good but you'd be paying more for potential than talent. His attitude sucks though, I watching that being Liverpool DVD and Sterling was pissing around on Rogers first training session so Rogers had a go at him.

I can't blame Sterling for wanting to go but he's acting like a dick about it. Surprised someone hasn't gone in for Coutinho. He's the one player who is too good for us.

His agent has got the textbook of how to force your client out of a club out, and is running it horrendously.

Good luck to City when another club come calling.

I think City should come back with a 40m bid. He wants out, and Liverpool risk being lumbered with a huge asset that will be losing value by not playing.

Whatever happens, if he does roll up at City, or anywhere else, you'll only know how good value he was in a few years time.

Being racially abused on Twitter and on his phone which has had his number dished out by Liverpool fans according to The Mirror. Getting out of control.

"He's starting to get a reputation that could be hard to rid himself of in the future," said Carragher.

"Are Man City fans looking at the situation and thinking this could be us in a few years?"

Liverpool should just let him go. They will be getting 50 million for him and he will never be as good as Pogba.

Sterling and his agent are certainly weakening Liverpool's position with all the bullshit they've pulled but it's progressed to the stage now where City have already committed to overpaying so Liverpool can't really lose.

Maybe, but if City were to say £35mill final offer, Liverpool could obviously turn it down, but what would they do with the player?
It's got to the point where he doesn't want to play for Liverpool and they'd look a bit cuntish for actually wanting to still use him. So then it's offers from other clubs or take what City offer now. City can cast their minds back to the Tevez situation to ease their minds if they miss out on him!

City allegedly missing out on their other targets is another boost to Liverpool in negotiations.
