He'll throw in a sick line at the end of the week.

It would be quite funny if Liverpool in spite could find a way to sell Sterling, but deny his agent any money since I think its all be done under his guidance.

that would be a marvelous kick in the b*lls.

Don't think it's anything to do with them, doesn' Sterling employ Ward? If he moves he'll owe Ward some money and I expect the buying club will be responsible for paying him a fee.

Anywhere. He'd get plenty of playing time left, right, centre and #10. Squad game innit. Tbf now Rosicky and Arteta have both signed up for another year there isn't really room, so Wenger isn't in for him. Shame though as there's a decade of great football to come from Sterling (as long as you pay him enough).

Well I wouldn't want him near my club, no matter how good some people think he is.

I wouldn't want Sterling ahead of Di Maria (assuming he starts to perform as we know he can) or Depay. He makes a lot of sense for City because of the homegrown thing and the fact that he's better than Navas and Nasri.

Gerrard getting involved now - saying he is disappointed with Sterling which is no surprise.

Sooner Liverpool get rid the better and Sterling will certainly have to perform for Man City to live up to all the hype and his own words..

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Did anything come of the doctor paying him a visit? I've heard nothing and assume that if he was found to be faking, it would have been all over the place, so is he actually, conveniently, ill?

It wouldn't be a case of either or because Sterling plays well in multiple roles (and is better than Depay...), but I could see the argument why you wouldn't want him ahead of Depay now you've signed him.

Sterling will score and assist more than Depay next season if he stays in the league.

In the league, Sterling at ages 18-20 has 16 goals & 12 assists in 68 games. Isco at 21-23 has 12 goals & 15 assists in 66 games for Real Madrid. Willian at 25-26 has 6 goals & 5 assists in 61 games for Chelsea.

He's not faring too badly considering he had nobody to assist over the past 9 months.

And that's not even taking into account the issues with just using pure numbers to judge, particularly a lad who can't purchase alcohol in America until December.

If he moves to City and is feeding Aguero then he bloody well should get more assists!

I reckon Depay will score more though, assuming he gets enough starts.

It's not comparing them, merely pointing out that his numbers at that age aren't poor, and seemingly being mocked for them is a bit thoughtless.

And as you said before, football isn't just numbers. Tell me, does Sterling alter games? Forget his age for a second, does he change games for Liverpool? He does not, he plays well around better players, like Suarez he brought out the best of him and Sturridge. But both Sterling and Sturridge are incredibly inferior players. Sterling has potential to be a decent winger for a decent team but he's certainly not someone who is worth that much to Liverpool on his own. Liverpool's stance is understandable but the price is ridiculous really.

Sterling is class, I'd be very worried if City signed him, he'd create so much space with his intelligence and pace for the likes of Aguero and Silva to work their magic.

Also, I dunno why he's been branded as a money grabber as it's clear he just doesn't want to play for Liverpool or Rodgers anymore, regardless of how much money they offer him. And who can blame him, Liverpool are hardly a team on the up and Rodgers is a c*** with no winning pedigree.

Aye, he does. He was our best player for a lot of the ridiculous run we had in 13/14 & was still very important for us last season, quite probably our most important player. The Chelsea goal, him being moved into the 'false 9' role changed our season until we blew it etc. He faded away, but then again he's still only 20.

He's far better and far more than a decent winger already, plus winger isn't even his best role imo. Sturridge is also better than you say there, I think you do both a disservice even though I do know what you mean. In the current market, I think the club's stance on his asking price is justified.

If you get that from Manchester City then it's a brilliant deal, you may have lost a good young prospect but you will have recouped a massive amount and to a club that are the soundest ones of the top 4 at the moment.

Liverpool are posturing a bit by claiming he'll 'rot in the reserves' if they don't get what they want. Despite it being nothing more than posturing, I can't help but feel this would be the best outcome for me. City don't get him, Liverpool don't get money to reinvest and still lose the player in a sense. The only negative is England, but Roy has that bit covered anyway.

Stick to your guns Liverpool.

I'd sell him to Real Madrid/PSG/abroad for £35m - but too City or Chelsea he's £50m. That's how it should be. Or let him rot in the reserves. Everyone over-charges us for players, time we started doing the same. Play a bit of hard ball...

...unless he starts biting fellow professionals.
