When has a valuable player ever been left to 'rot in the reserves'? Completely stupid idea.

Sterling will score and assist more than Depay next season if he stays in the league.
Getting a bit tired of these crystal ball comments/predictions (not you in particular).

Predictions are fun. Plus this one is spot on and I'm trying to bait United fans into a bet.

City will cough up 50m. Liverpool know it. It's a matter of when not if.

Sterling is absolutely gash, he just runs fast has little skill and can't finish or pass well

he is so up his own arse its untrue

Liverpool should stick to their guns and let him rot

He's far from gash, but he's not as good as he thinks he is yet.

Think the best place for him is here at Liverpoo,l but right now i hope we do just let the little twat rot in the u21s.

I'm pretty sure there's some sort of rule against that.

How can there be a rule against it? Especially when he is actually u21. There can't be a rule against who a manager decided to pick in his teams.

It came up when United wanted to do it to Ronaldo and City wanted to do it to Tevez, it's called "Sporting Just Cause" in the FIFA regulations, and it would mean that Sterling would probably be able to terminate his contract if they did that to him at the end of the season.

What if they pay someone to smash Sterling's legs in with a sledgehammer? Legitimate reason not to play him, no one will want to buy him. Flaw in the plan, City will still probably offer 45m.

Think I might have been preemptive with the 'offical' bit. Although, in my defence, it was on The Mirror's website and they are the Pravda to LFC.

The Mirror?! Anderson is their Liverpool correspondent & he doesn't have a clue. John Cross wrote that, he's their Arsenal bod & Aidy Ward's mouthpiece.

Delph not going City could well have a significant impact here, they'll need Sterling even more.

It's basically done, he's not going the tour & City have put a serious offer in.

From Paul Joyce (along with Barrett the most reliable Liverpool journo about).

http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...ing-Man-City-huge-bid-Liverpool-Transfer-News

"Dialogue between City and Liverpool has continued over the weekend since a third bid of £40m, rising to £44m, was submitted by Etihad officials on Friday night.

An increase to £45m has been made and the eventual fee is likely to be nearer Liverpool's £50m valuation.

Further discussions are currently taking place and an agreement is not yet in place but could be reached today...

Sterling called in sick twice last week, rather than train at Melwood, and told manager Brendan Rodgers he wanted a move to City resolved before Liverpool set-off on tour.

He was at Melwood today, but his wish is set to be granted and he will earn around £200,000-a-week at City."

Doubt he will earn that much straight away but £45m seems a good deal for both sides

Whether it ends up being 45m or 50m Liverpool have done well to squeeze that much money out of City for a player that made it so clear that he wanted to leave. We'll see how well they reinvest that money into the squad though.

The reported wages are ridiculous as well.

It's a great deal for us if true, but we'll most probably ruin it with poor transfers.

I admit this has turned me slightly bitter towards Sterling, and a part of me wishes to see him fail, not because he wanted to move to a better club, that's understandable, but because he thinks he is much better than what he really is. Will be interesting to see how he develops at City.

I'd be ok with bidding for Bolasie, purely because we probably won't lose to Palace.

£200-a-week, ha, that's almost as funny as Spurs building a stadium with a capacity of 61,000.

I'm not sure I understand what's funny about Spurs building a stadium bigger than yours? Is it because you don't think they'll sell out? News Flash....there's empty seats at the Emirates every week.

The Mirror has 4-5 Liverpool fans on its football section staff as well as Dalglish as a columnist. It is one of the most blatantly biased papers around.
