Good deal for City.
Wonder how much of the fee Brendan & Co will get to spend, an will they waste it or continue with the fairly decent signings already made.

It's a good deal for everyone involved. He wanted out, not a huge contract length left, we wanted a big fee and have another player similar in Jordon Ibe who can get to the same level Sterling has shown.

Ibe & Sterling are different types of player.

Sterling will develop into the clear better player, and already is further on at the same stage than Ibe is.

Ah but Ibe has a larger physique and can turn himself into a monster a la Bale or Big Ron. As a hobbit Raheem will have to settle for god given ability like Messi, and Sterling is an atheist.

I think there's more chance of Ojo reaching that level than Ibe.

Pretty clear now that Liverpool are Arsenal 2009-2013, without the top four finishes and adjusted for inflation.

£49 million is absolutely ridiculous. Liverpool must be pissing themselves.

I don't think this is as good a deal for Liverpool as others seem to. It's a good price for a player who didn't want to be there but ultimately they're selling one of their best players (I'd say he is/was their best player; Sturridge is always injured and Coutinho is overrated) to a direct rival. Sterling improves City straight away and he's only going to get better.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
It's abhorrent but every club has a minority of idiots like this and the internet gives them a voice, I think it's pretty irresponsible of a national paper (even if it is the Daily fucking Mail) to give them a bigger platform by bringing widespread attention to this kind of shit though.

It wasn't just in the Mail, that was just the first link. I really don't buy the 'every club has idiots' line. They do, but why is that somehow any excuse? If fans actually called people out for being pricks instead of shrugging their shoulders with a 'meh' then it might start to die out.

It's not an excuse, 'fans' like these are disgusting and deserve pointing out. Regardless of which club they support. That shit about Sterling's daughter in particular is fucking vile. You'd have to be some sort of animal to think about posting that shit on a public medium, never mind actually do it.

I look at it the other way, I think the papers are right to publicly shame the filth that do it.

Who is shrugging their shoulders?

You're genuinely one of the most unpredictable posters I can remember on this forum and TFF.

I heard it was United fans though. :cool1:

Yes like all City fans do when the predictable Munich chants start from a number of City fans from behind the police escort.

It isn't an excuse, but you can just picture these journalists frantically searching through twitter after every major transfer hoping to find this minority of lunatics saying ridiculous things. The people saying the truly extreme stuff that goes too far should definitely be punished, as you shouldn't be able to racially abuse someone or threaten a child and get away with it just because you did it on the internet, I just find the media's reaction to these sorts of things predictably depressing.

Great deal for QPR! Near 10 million for someone who never kicked a ball for our first team.

Wondered how long it would take a united fan to come out with that one. Of course they should be condemned as pricks. They are pricks. But you'll not hear me saying 'oh, every club has them'. I'll call them pricks.

Yeah but, every club does have them? And everybody calls them pricks? So what are you trying to take a moral high ground on this time you barm pot?

Maybe you know more about Stocky than me, you two seem to have some history, but it says he supports Stockport County...
