The thing about Sterling is that he doesn't have much of a top speed at all. His quick acceleration is deceptive, but it's quite obvious when he plays as a deeper winger as he does in the 3-4-2-1.

Navas was a fine winger in Spain but he has regressed badly at City.

I've never really rated Navas to be honest. Sure he has plenty of pace, but what else does he really bring to City that a Sterling / Walcott couldn't?

A lot of the games I saw him play in Spain, he looked pretty impressive, but he's just not brought that form at all to England.

Depends if they're playing.

I expect he's confident in his ability. Aim for the stars. The worse that will happen is that he's at Man City for a season on 200k a week, plays a dozen games and moves away again at the end of the season.

Agents can be blamed for a lot, but securing a move to one of the best teams in the country on 200k a week. Not exactly the crime of the century is it?

If he's aiming for a top club, why not go to one of the best in Europe, no English club can offer that at the moment. Manchester City are an unstable club, likely to change manager very soon. Is he even desirable outside of England, I can't see him strengthening any of the top European clubs, he's not that good.

I've always found Pellz to be tactically inept against more competitive teams. City can overhwelm mid table teams by bombing forward and showing no respect, but that shit doesn't fly against quality opponents.

If you want loyalty get a dog because Sterling should look after number one and if he can get a better pay day at the likes of City then he should grab it with both hands

How much do we honestly think it'd take for Liverpool to accept a bid with one year left on his contract?

His contact is up in January 2017 so it's more than a year, even this coming summer. But I take the point, his value will be effected if we can't get him to sign a new deal and to pretend otherwise would be stupid.

Still think he'll sign a deal myself, even if it's only an extension of a couple of years.

We could just give him what he wants, extend his contract, and hope someone bids insane amount later :D

If his contract runs until Jan 2017 then it won't be as much of an issue this summer. £40 million maybe this year, and that's assuming he makes it clear he won't sign a new deal, which is unlikely.

However, summer 2016 is a completely different kettle of fish [again, assuming he refuses to sign a new deal]. With only 6 months to run on his contract, £20 million should be enough to get him I'd imagine.

If he extends and leaves in a year Liverpool can maximise the transfer fee. They'd obvi have to bend over to his wage demands for the duration of his stay at the club though.

Don't know how accurate this is, but apparently he rejected 180k per week? Surely not?

It's bollocks. We were baulking at £150k and wouldn't go above £100k but suddenly nearly doubled the offer? Nah.

I'm getting worried now. I mean, look, he's good and he's still young, and the fact he's English and he'd be moving from Liverpool to join Arsenal would be funny as fuck but I'd honestly rather keep Theo.

If Theo doesn't want to stay which I don't believe at all then sign Reus, not Sterling. City can have Theo for £25m.

He's got some seriously bad people advising him if he has turned down that figure. He's what? 20? He should be staying at Liverpool for at least another 4 years. It will ruin him if he goes to one of the Spanish giants.

That figure is so ludicrous it almost makes me think there must be some truth to it. Surely if you were going to make a story up, you'd make it a little bit more believable.

So you believe it because it's unbelievable but not quite unbelievable enough to be unbelievable?

Stockport County.
Should stay at Liverpool to be honest.

But rumours of Pep and Bayern being interested would be a head swinger for any young player I guess?

Young players really need to be careful who they let lead them. There's a young player at United called Andreas Pereira who has been offered a good contract at United and wants to stay for footballing reasons but has his father and represantatives in his ear wanting him to join PSG for nearly triple the wages but all the signing on fee etc. These people aren't interested in the players' development, simply "return on investment" which even sadly includes fathers and family.

Surely his contract doesn't run out in jan 2017. When has anyone's contract run out in Jan unless they in lower leagues on short term deals?
