Rochdales games in hand not looking so clever now. Looks like two spots up for grabs.

A real 6 pointer in every sense but still a hell of a long way to go. Next games Cobblers at home and then Wombles away, 4 points would be terrific but the main thing is confidence is returning and never more so than in defense where we have kept 2 clean sheets in a row. This time last year we were challenging for promotion, thank god we did'nt go up but this time round its just riveting, albeit at the wrong end of the table !

What a bloody good game of football. 2 teams both attacking at any opportunity, and it was very entertaining to watch. The ref was dreadful (got both reds right but fuck all else) and I think both teams deserved something from the game.

We pressed the Shrews high and got direct runners in behind and Hasselbaink pulled it out the bag by switching to wingbacks.

On to Fleetwood now, which is absolutely huge

He does go to ground easily at times but that was a definite penalty in the 2nd half!

Dale v Cods

Bloody freezing, 2 shite teams,1 shite game, but 3 vitally needed points for the Cods. Dale team looked like they could not be arsed, if that mentality persisits they are goners. Cods looked slightly more up for it but their lack of quality in the final third, for the most part, let them down.

Sorry i don't get that, whether you'd be out of your depth at Championship level it would be a remarkable acheivement for a club of your size and the financial rewards would set you up, Burton have had two seasons at that level, Yeovil had one, when they were sat non league you'd have had any fan sectioned if they'd said their club was going to be playing the likes of Leeds, Villa, Wednesday, Derby and the like at home in the 2nd tier.

I get it.What he is saying is they would probably get hammered each week crowd s would then drop off . They would go down and possibly be on the slippery slide down the pyramid.Yes Burton have done well but expect to see them in League 2 within two seasons. For all the money Yeovil made going up virtually crippled them and the club has suffered ever since.

Whereas Fleetwood might manage to skip the whole Championship season part and drop straight back down to L2... what a trade-off...

Sorry but you want to see your club at the highest level you can. My club made it to the championship never thought it would and I would not swap it for anything even if it didn’t end how you would hope. I always thought football was about enjoying the ride

I can understand your comment, looking at it again it does seem rather strange. However where I was coming from was the struggles this season, coupled with the loss of senior players i.e.Ball/McLaughlin and in January Cole/Bell. I felt it would have contributed to a mammoth challenge that we would not yet have been ready for. For sure the likes of Rotherham who had successive promotions and got into the Championship, ditto Burton who have done fantastic , equally Yeovil and yes the money would have been terrific Btw wrote this today around 10 and never posted, no need to change, read the comments following no probs. An easier way to make some good dosh is for Jamie Vardy to be sold, that would be 7th heaven
So clubs should not want to better themselves.....

17. Walsall - Played 38 Points 44
18. Fleetwood - Played 37 Points 42
19. Wimbledon - Played 37 Points 42
20. Oldham - Played 36 Points 40

21. Northampton - Played 38 Points 40
22. MK Dons - Played 37 Points 38
23. Rochdale - Played 35 Points 34
24. Bury - Played 37 Points 30

Good results for Fleetwood and Northampton last night, Walsall currently getting smashed by Wigan so they can stay in the shakeup a little longer.

Bury v Wigan
Fleetwood v Northampton
MK Dons v Blackpool
Scunthorpe v Rochdale
Shrewsbury v Wimbledon

Game of the weekend takes place at Highbury, an absolutely huge game. Fleetwood win and they'll climb a bit further up the table and put at least a win between them and the drop, but a Northampton win really bunches it up further. Oldham and Walsall not playing gives the rest of us a chance to gain ground/stretch the gap, whilst MK will feel confident of continuing their good form at home to Blackpool. Dale and Wimbledon face two tough away trips but you never know at this stage of the season.

I fancy us to get the win at Fleetwood, unbeaten away this year including trips to Bradford, Bristol R, Blackburn and Scunny. Hope Hasslebaink doesn't tinker too much as I think we'd be set up well if we continued as we were on Tuesday, especially with the onus being on Fleetwood to attack and force the issue. Looking forward to it.

Of the current bottom seven we still have to play six of them (Northampton are the lucky ones). So we’ll probably have a part to play in who goes if we end up dropping points somewhere along the way.

You've already taken the six points of us...it would be beneficial if you can repeat that with the rest of them...

I hope Wigan are prepared for a spanking this weekend...

You'll win the football game though

Now all of my confidence has gone!

Yesterday we'd sold 500 so hopefully we'll get close to 1,000

Thats terrific away support mate and should be a good atmosphere, have a safe journey and enjoy the day but.........

It'll most probably be a nervy draw which doesn't do much for either team!

Heart is hoping for a Cods win, but head is saying ANY result is possible, it would not even surprise me if Bury meeted out a spanking. The only real poor performances from a team I have witnessed this season was the Cods away to Donny, and the Dale at home to us Tuesday, other than that, for the most part games could have gone either way. On a similar vein, none of the current top 6 has struck me as being on a different level to the rest of the league in the games I have seen them in.

Similarly, the bottom seven could have a major say in who may go up !

Tbh when we played Northampton recently they were very poor, however they worked bloody hard though and through sheer determination (and luck at times) they some how got a draw against us at our place. A completely different team (in that respect) to the one we faced at their place where it ended 6-0.

I can see them fighting out for a draw here.
