Yep it's going to be a long week.A draw at Bradford should be enough for us.It won't be easy though!!

Interesting move from Plymouth. Not sure I've ever seen something like this with 1 game to go.

Darrel Clarke in the summer would be a fantastic move for both sides

Yeah Darrell Clarke is a great shout. He did wonders with you for a few seasons. Ian Holloway, Paul Hurst and Keith Hill all been mentioned too. There’s quite a few clubs looking for new managers in the summer.

I'd stay away from Holloway & Hurst personally. It will be an interesting summer, whichever league you're in.

I wonder if you'll make a move for Coughlan? He would certainly unite your fans together with the board again

We had our best times under Holloway but I think his best management days are gone now - enjoys his media stuff too much. Hurst I wouldn't mind - seems to have done well everywhere except Ipswich where miracles appeared to be required.

Would love Coughlan - doubt it'd happen though. Is he under contract past end of season? If not then that could make a difference.

Also wouldn't be against Keith Hill, experienced in these leagues, plays good football and has an affiliation with the club.

Agreed on Holloway. I personally can' stand the bloke. Hurst I've always questioned if he was that good. Did he really do that well with Grimsby? Obviously he had one great year with Shrewsbury but that's really it?

GC has another 2 yeas on his contract so he'd cost. I don't think we'd stand in his way though.

Hill is a great shout, although I get the feeling he's only good at Rochdale?

Did very well with Ilkeston and Boston, too. Ipswich was his first job where it hasn't worked out.

Hurst's problem is that he isn't a people person. He's not someone who'll develop a relationship with the fans but he certainly seems to have an eye for a player, sometimes unfancied ones, and mould them all into a good side.

There will be other frustrations that the Grimsby lot will have with him as well. I think one of them was that they felt he was *only* 'par' with them and his 'don't lose' mantra maybe cost them at times.

I think Sunderland's defeat last night is a good result for Southend. There is no real incentive for them to win at Southend.I'm sure they will rest quite a few players.

On the other hand there’s no pressure on Sunderland now, it’s very much all on Southend.

Sunderland will want to finish 3rd, I doubt they’ll rest many, if any.

Hope Southend win though, would like to see them stay up and see Sunderland enter the play-offs off the back of two defeats.

Sunderland do need to win. Losing 2 games before the play offs is suicide, never mind having to play in form Charlton.

However, they may miss that cutting edge they usually would have

McGeady was rested last night. Read he has a cracked bone in his foot and requires injections before every game so there's a good chance he might not be playing until the play-offs.

Well if I was a Plymouth,Walsall or Scunthorpe supporter I'd rather be playing Sunderland on Saturday.

That was awful. The downside of staying up is that we'll play MK next season. Ho hum.

Good luck to Bradford, Walsall, Scunny and Plymouth in L2.

Its weird to think had Plymouth players not thrown the towel in against us and lost 5-1 they'd have stayed up. Managers often say goal difference is important and that proves it.

When we lost to Rochdale at home a few weeks ago I was convinced that was it for us but delighted to finish 14th after 7 points from the last 3 games.

Also weird to think that, as devastated as I was at the time, that injury time equaliser by Wimbledon at Luton ended up keeping them up. And since it didn't cost Luton anything in the end I can now be alright with that goal as I wouldn't have wanted Wimbledon a division below that other lot that just came up.

With due respect to John Coleman and his boys, our ridiculously negative goal-difference (30 odd worse than the Gas, IIRC) is an achievement of sorts... :)

I'm just thankful that this is the first time in the last 3 times we've got promoted to the third tier that we haven't collapsed straight back down.

Of course, I fully expect us to struggle again next season, but hey ho, there are worse things than either being a mediocre to crap L1 side or a decent L2 one, god knows there are bigger clubs than us who've crashed out of the league altogether, so I guess sometimes you need to count your blessings...

Fair play to clubs like Accrington, Wycombe and Rochdale for surviving, all small clubs at this level, especially Stanley, and have stayed up at the expense of bigger budget clubs like Bradford and Plymouth.

Im surprised Stanley didnt sustain early season form and do better. They were unbeleivable last season.

Be a lot tougher for them next season now the momentum of promotion has gone, if they survive a second season them that will be an unreal achievement.

We had a great start but that 4-1 defeat at Kenilworth Road in October started a run of 0 wins in 8
Fantastic achievement by all at Luton though - I seem to remember you finishing top half of Championship under Mike Newell.

Coleman has said there'll be a lot of changes to the squad this summer and work has already begun on the pitch so it'll be interesting to see how we start the new season.
