I will predict Cheltenham top three along with Portsmouth and one other maybe Orient or Doncaster. Plymouth to make the play offs, Morecambe and Stevenage to be relegated.

Some people seem to be genuinely under estimating our team and our manager this season, hopefully it means we start under the radar but I would be astounded if we are not in the top seven or so this season.

I'm also confident of promotion this season but don't expect top 3 due to the strength of Portsmouth, Doncaster etc

Funnily enough this guy hasn't been posting much this season...

Enjoy another season in this sh1tole...ha ha ha

The Akinde we had was absolute gash but he's a completely different player at Barnet, perhaps its because he didn't get enough of a chance. Well he's certainly found that at Barnet and is a real handful. I'm 100% we won't sign him or even try to, we have Main and Smith to an extent as "Target men".

Akinde would be better than what any other team have upfront, but he won't leave for another league 2 club and no one would be able to pay what we'd want anyway. If he goes in Jan it'll be to a top League 1/middle championship team.

You can't compare him to 3 seasons ago - the guy is ridiculous now. I've never seen a player bully defenders like he does. I remember when we played Palace in preseason and he dominated Scott Dann. He's very, very good.

Glad to see Akinde doing well. He actually looked decent when he first Joined City but I think being loaned out non stop and not successfully for nearly 5 years had an affect on him. Once he settled down again and started playing football he had flourished which I'm not overally surprised to see.

Akinde easily the best player I've seen since we got back in the league. Stats back this up. Must be on a serious wedge at Barnet.

Back on the topic of relegation, this thread is showing how prematurely it was created because as yet there isn't even any real sign of a relegation battle forming, and usually there is something going on down there by this point. It would make more sense to try and guess at who is not going to be involved in the relegation battle.

I would say the top 5 (Plymouth, Carlisle, Doncaster, Luton and Portsmouth) who look more than likely to be involved in the promotion chase.

If I then had to pick teams from the general pack who I don't think will be involved I would go with Grimsby and Crewe who seem to be consistently top-half, and if unable to break away from the peloton completely then they at least don't look like dropping to the other end of it, and Blackpool who have been impressive when on form and would probably be in the breakaway top-group if only they were consistent.

Other than that... everyone else is just sort of playing musical chairs where will you be when the transfer window opens?

It was that moody nasty Donny fan with the koala bear avatar who started it.

He claims to be a ladies man and only has time to post on here on a Saturday night.

Much higher than what exactly? He played for us in League One and was fucking dire. One of the worst strikers to ever play for us and that is saying A LOT!
BJA was with us in league 2 and league 1 and hardly got a game. The first year in League 2 I could understand why. Strikers on fire (until Xmas) but the season in league 1? He only scored one goal for us but the amount of chances he sent screaming high and wide was impressive.

What he has done at Barnet is very surprising to those of us who watched him previously but it may be a case of good at one club not at another. In which case that's very good news for the Bees.

We were glad to have him on loan as he couldn't stop scoring for us a few years back.

Alright, we can talk about relegation now ;) Two consecutive defeats for Newport and they're back in 24th place, although surely Westley will keep 'em up? Same goes for Cheltenham who look poorly equipped for League footy, but they have Johnson so they will always have a chance, unless they panic and fire him but I don't think they'll do that. Notts C, Accy and Morecambe are dropping like a stone, although the latter beat ten man Plymouth today. Out of those three sides I don't see County going down, but Morecambe will be down there all season long I reckon. I just don't see them picking enough points to move to safer waters anytime soon. Re. Accy, I don't really know what to think as they're not that bad, and yet otoh,I wouldn't even be remotely surprised should they go down.

There's nothing to suggest we won't be in a scrap for the rest of the season.
Four straight defeats, one win in seven, one clean sheet all season.
The chairman wants out, we're in court on a winding up order from HMRC next month and nobody is expecting us to actually strengthen a weak team in the transfer window. We may get some out to get some in, but doubtful if they're players on the up with any class. We're a journeyman footballers pension plan of a club.
Oh, and Newport hammered us last week, if that's the benchmark for avoiding the drop.

Was the ''Enjoy another season in this shithole hahaha" directed at you or a fellow Grimsby fan? If so, then

His first 4-5 games for us were exactly this. Every effort on goal was an attempt to break the net. Now he is probably one of the coolest finishers I've seen, just rolls the ball into the goal with minimal fuss.

I hope Accy go down so we can steal a few more of their good players.

Anyways I hope I won't be posting in here anymore...

Billy Kee is being wasted there. He got a shitload of goals and assists for them last season.

We need a striker in Jan and his deal is up in the summer. If we are not in for him I would be very surprised as he is one of few strikers I've seen at the abbey this season who gave Leon Legge a very difficult afternoon.

Billy Kee is a fatty. He needs to lose a couple of stone and gain a few yards. If Carlisle are (as they look to be,) going to get promoted Fat Boy Kee is not worth looking at.

Put it this way - I wouldnt have him in our side and we are shite.

Looks to me like the table spread out a fair bit yesterday.
If Stevenage and Yeovil win their games in hand then it could put a gap in between top and bottom half.

Agree with this, the fat lad missed two sitters the other night against us, gash.
