Newport and Cheltenham for me.

I think Hartlepool's half decent start to the season will save them. I was thinking Orient for the drop but they got a massive win yesterday which has to give the squad a lift. Notts County are unbeaten at home under Nolan and I think they've got enough in attack to survive now.

I think Morecambe and Accrington will plod along with an outside chance of relegation but steer away in the last month or two.

Hartlepool are the team that should be concerned at the moment. The new manager doesn't seem to have changed their fortunes much. Where's Ronnie Moore when they need him?

Forget Ronnie Moore, we need a consortium of God, Allah and Lord Buddha to save us now.

From the outside looking in, I think Westley will keep Newport up.

Not sure where Hartlepool are getting their next win from, Cheltenham had a brief positive spell which has quickly dissipated...Notts I suspect will find a way to stop up, Orient seem like the great unpredictables at the minute, maybe mirroring their ownership perfectly.

Two from Hartlepool, Cheltenham and Orient.

Either way, there's no reason 50 will be the mark required.

I wouldn't want to be relying on it if we were down there, but 45 should be sufficient.

Rarely in league 2 is 50 points needed due to 2 teams going down. Last season 35 was unbelievably enough to stay up (I think)

Someone posted this on our board recently and it's pretty much spot on

Pools look like an airliner on a flight where the pilot has the concerned passengers knocking on the cockpit door to tell him bits are falling off the plane and the engines keep flaming out.
The pilot keeps smiling and telling everyone things are fine and it's normal for bits to drop off...... Half the passengers are happy to believe him despite the signs and order more drinks....the other half are inflating their life jackets furiously and wanting him to land.
And bits keep falling off the plane.

I hadn't really looked at the fixtures past February, fuck me March is also looking considerably shitty as well, the away games at Notts County/Orient/Cheltenham are going to define our end of season.

After Tuesday night things have really gotten interesting down at the bottom.

I was all but ready to write us off, but 4 points from away trips to Yeovil and Plymouth is an excellent return. Whilst we're still severely lacking in quality, and a threadbare squad means a couple of crucial injuries might scupper us, we are at least showing some fight.

Our next 2 home games are County and Cheltenham - things will undoubtedly be clearer once these fixtures have been played.

It's a shame Crewe have found some form out of nowhere, but Hartlepool are definitely in the mix. I don't think Accrington or Morecambe are realistically involved any more.

Looks to be a 5 horse race; between Newport, Orient, County, Cheltenham and Hartlepool.

Too early to say with any conviction who's dropping, but if I had to guess I would say Newport and Cheltenham - but there's still 15/16 games to be played.

Potentially huge blow for Orient as Liam Kelly is charged with violent conduct - with the FA saying a three-match ban is 'clearly insufficient'.

Well they can 'clearly fuck off', seeing as Hazard only got a three match ban for something virtually identical.

Another potential nail in our coffin - Kelly is so key to us staying up. The FA can fuck right off, especially as bechiti passed their flawed 'fit and proper persons' test.

He barely touches the ball boy, and the little c*** took his sweet time with the ball.

Fuck the FA, bunch of bean-counters.

Would the mitigating factor not be that the ball boy in that game was clearly obstructing Hazard from getting the ball? Kelly seemed to just shove the lad over as he was in the process of chucking it over for your corner.

But it is fundamentally different from Hazard in two key ways.

First, there were mitigating circumstances with Hazard where the ball boy was quite clearly and deliberately lying on the ball. There is even a suggestion that he had even indicated before the game on Twitter he might do something. Anyone who has seen any of the videos cannot claim any mitigating factors.

Second, Chelsea have leverage and can afford the best lawyers and PR team. Orient, like any league two side, do not count. So the FA can claim the moral high ground and be seen to be especially tough to pour encourager les autres. If you don't want to be put upon you need to be playing in the premier league. But then you would probably have faced a more experienced ref who would have sent him off.

If anything the FA are making more of an example of Kelly because of the previous incident with Hazard because it's what they do. If they want to draw attention to an issue / make an example of someone then they drag a lower league team across the coals because it's easier. After Hazard's incident, behaviour towards ball-boys went on the list of things the FA wish they could have made a bigger deal out of, thankfully for them, Liam Kelly gave them the perfect opportunity.

Although some greens' view of Orient has been clouded I still do not want them to go down: there are others' I would have ahead of them in the queue They are a proper club who I have time for, they are just not blessed in the owner department.

On Tuesday they did what they had to do, I would expect us to do the same in the same circumstances, it is for the referee to sort out. Time to move on.

Wish we could play Yeovil every week :bl: absolutely shocking from them, their players to a man looked as though they didn't give a shit and handed us the easiest three points we'll get all season.

I didn't go today but conceding a 90th minute goal to lose a game Newport were leading 2-0 in the second half in doesn't bode well for them.

Be careful down there. We're coming. We have to play Donny, Pompey, Plymouth and Exeter soon. Dropping like a stone time.

Roberts, one of the best attacking forwards in the division, plays left back. We sign Lelan as cover for right back and play the most right sided player I've seen for many a day as a left centre half. What makes it worse is we have players on the bench who play in those positions (Yorwerth and Blackman). Cox is clearly unfit and needs to lose some podge. Fair comment to play Jimmy Smith after his hat trick against Colchester but he was back to standing still and pointing at other people.

While watching our match today I was thinking at least Morecambe and the officials are having a good game but then the officials decided to join in with our performance.

It's reached that rollercoaster ride ride point of the season where every result either makes you feel euphoric or drops you into the abyss with thoughts of trips to Braintree in the Conference.
Terrible day for Newport, and not great for Orient. Great for Notts and pretty good for Cheltenham.
Looks like a Six team dogfight , Acct look safe, but I don't think Crewe are home and hosed just yet.

We've lost our captain Danny Hollands for two months but I'm confident we'll survive. We're on a run of 7 points in 9 games and after our next three games (Stevenage (H), Hartlepool (A), Portsmouth (A)) we'll have played 7 of the current Top 9 home and away and we still have a lot of mid-table and struggling teams to come to Gresty Road where we've been playing some great football since we sacked the fraud and replaced him with Sir Dave Artell.

In my opinion, out-of-form Yeovil are more likely to be involved in this than us and I reckon barring a massive bout of injuries we'll hit 50 points by the end of March/start of April.

Our youngsters have showed they've got plenty of heart since Webb took over, but they don't quite have the nouce yet to truly win and see out games.

This season has been too much in the end, our owner has well and truly fucked us over with deliberate sabbotage since January 1st.

We should get enough points from the next six games to see us all but guaranteed safety all being well. The fact we're creating more chances than the opposition and scoring goals again gives me hope against anyone. We look like a Crewe team Dario would be proud of and that means we'll just try and score one more than you.

I will be shocked if we are not comfortably in mid table come May. We're playing decent football now, scoring goals and playing with fight and passion. 2 of Newport, Orient, Cheltenham and Hartlepool will go imo.

We had Crawley a couple of weeks ago and they looked really poor. Normally even a bad team has a player who stands out but Crawley just had nothing, and if the bottom four keep picking up points, they could get dragged in.

Lots of people aren't naming us in those that will be in the battle at the end of the season but Notts aren't out of this. We have an incredibly hard run in where we play most of the top half of the table. Upcoming game against Yeovil is massive
