We've announced which players we're releasing and who we're offering new deals to.

Released

Sam Slocombe - Offer has been on the table for a long time. Rejected as he doesn't want to fight for jersey with Luke Daniels. Will easily find another L1 Club.

Marcus Williams - Fucking horrible decision to release him. One of our players of the year, will find another L1 club.

Matt Sparrow - Club legend but he's been terrible this season. Barely played, will probably go to York to join Wilcox.

Miguel Llera - Started off very shaky but massively improved mid season. Randomly dropped by Robins in January and has only played once since, got sent off in that game too. Will go to L2 imo.

Eddie Nolan - Absolutely fucking shit. Will go to the Conference.

Callum Howe - Youth teamer but has never played.

James Severn - Goalkeeper who has played twice for us, conceded 4 in his first game and broke his arm in the next. Not a huge loss.

Offered new deals

Gary McSheffrey - This would be fantastic if we could get him to sign another deal. Been one of our best players this season, everything goes through him. Got 10 goals and around 12 assists I believe this season, really looked good since moving into CAM too.

Isiah Osbourne - Looked exceptional when he first came in, fell off a bit but picked that form back up. Injured quite a lot but worth a shot.

Joe Anyon - Never played for us, simply a back up goalkeeper.

Everyone else is under contract.

McLeans reportedly on over £6k per week - and Sheff Utd refused to meet his £3.5k wage demands when they wanted him in the summer. I think you'll find Sheehans on quite a substantial wage too, considering he can't even kick a ball straight.

Struggling to find the League Two forum? I can always direct you? Cheerio.

To be fair it's quite well known that Sheehan's not on that much.

Jason Kennedy has been offered a contract by Carlisle... guess we've released him. Cheers Carlisle for telling us more about our own club than our own club.

Says who? I can only assume you wasn't aware of the numerous media reports suggesting that Sheff Utd weren't willing to match his wage demands at that time. Then suddenly, and already sour graped Notts official came out with the exact amount we apparently offered him? Yeah right.

I don't, but I don't think I'm far off what I initially predicted. This based on Notts County fans, reports on Sheenhan surrounding his future at NCFC - along with the £4,000 Sheehan demanded when Sheff Utd wanted to sign him (of which was reported in the media around that time). 10 days later, we signed him. Then suddenly, he's dropped his massive wage demands and settled for £100 more than at Notts..... Bull shite!

Believe what you want - I won't lose any sleep.

I wouldn't really believe anyone fully other than the people that actually know his wage i.e. him, his agent and a select few at the club. I wouldn't be surprised if he finds himself a new club, not because of financial reasons just because he seems arsed off that he's on the bench every week and he's not good enough at centre back to cover for injuries.

My source is our owner and then Sheehan confirming it about 5 times...I mean, like, whatever. Firthy's Random Wage Generator seems just as reliable as the bloke receiving the money every month.

'Firthy's random wage generator'? What, like, I just think of a number and the infamous generator within me throws out a round number?

Jesus wept. Like most football fanatics around the world, their only source being hearsay, rumours and the media.

Where/when did Sheehan confirm that we signed him for £100 more - and more interestingly, what was Sheenhan earning at Notts?

Not a lot, Allen signed him on a decent wage, he tried to leave and got no offers and Rodwell gave him a reduced contract (the reason he hates Rodwell, although I'm sure there are other reasons because all our ex-players seem to hate him - Bishop especially which makes his current situation humorous) so he signed back on somewhere between 1k-1.5k (on the lower end of that I'd guess).

No wonder you got relegated with that squad, Christ
Decent first XI, absolutey no depth and no goalscorers. Should have blood the youth earlier than we did, they've been among our best performers.

Upson, Williams, Bailey and another is a quality midfield for this level, unfortunately we probably won't get to see it.

Woah, why've Scunny released Slocombe? thought he was well thought of

Got injured along with our other keeper James Severn. Robins signed Luke Daniels and he's going to be No.1. Shame he's gone as he's good enough for this league.

Wouldn't surprise me at all. Doesn't really fit in here. Too ponderous. Excellent talent, though. Think he'd thrive in the Champ in the right system.

Only five players out of contract at Rochdale.

Sean McGinty, Jack Muldoon and Febian Brandy have been released.

Stephen Dawson and Tom Kennedy have been offered new deals.

Bastien Hery and Joel Logan are available for transfer.

I can see Dawson going to somewhere like Bradford (who can afford higher wages than us). Kennedy may well stay. Brandy didn't show much for us, but has been decent in the past. Muldoon spent the season injured then out on loan - may well end up in the conference. McGinty was rubbish and never got near a first team place.

Hery is an excellent player and did well whengiven a chance. As a ball-player, he would do well at somewhere like MK or SSwindon - maybe not as a starter but would fit in with the style of play. Logan is a young lad who hasn't really progressed after a promising start. Was actually the first of our crop of kids to make his debut (under John Coleman) - a move to Accy might suit him.

Wouldn't be a complete summer if we don't sign a few Rochdale players.

Slightly disappointed about Hery, we all know there is a fantatic talented player in there, he's a very exciting player when on form. He wasn't always given a fair crack for me, during his best run of form Hill dropped him for Lund who he generally favours (he is class too) but at the time Hery didn't deserve to be dropped. Since then other chances he's been given here and there he hasn't grabbed them at all, think that's partly down to not having a good run of games though.

I was hoping parky was gunna sign him last summer so I'd be happy if we went in for him.

I can see us signing considerably better players than Dawson this pre-season.

Port Vale
Port Vale have retained Rob Page as manager. Interesting decision.

Not really, everyone knew it would happen. I think he deserves the chance to build his own team and squad so will see what happens, I'd like him to get an experienced number two in to assist him though.

Interestingly a table of the league from when he took over actually had us 10/11th and that's despite the 1 win in 11 at the end so he probably didn't do as bad as some Vale fans feel. Smurf has said though if we are struggling at the end of September he will be gone. So pressure is on to get it right!

Billy Waters definitely released from Crewe, August he was superb but he's gone downhill since then. Can see him ending up at Chester or somewhere like that.

Rest to follow by no later than Friday I reckon.

Seemed talented so I'm surprised we've let him go. Although the club were probably hoping he'd have a late growth spurt that never came, didn't even realise he was out of contract tbh!

Good luck with that.

Is he REALLY that good? Don't take what I said to heart, we're on the verge of being taken over by multi-millionaires, and are set to have a sizable playing budget next season.

Even without the takeover, we've profited a million through the Cup run, of which I'm sure will increase the budget next season compared to this current season.

Definetley some talent in Waters, just look at his goal vs Barnsley. He will probably drop to conference level but I can see him working his way back up.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't out of contract, I'm sure he signed a 2 year deal last season. Maybe it was a 1 year deal with the option of a 2nd, dunno. His problems were entirely coaching related I think. He picked up bad habits, his form and confidence dropped and the management just sacked him off. Davis also doesn't like small lads in central midfield, Billys position I think. I mean, he was never tried in that position or even in a number 10 role.

Really feel like if the management had persisted with him, played him in a few different positions etc, he could have done better here. He, like Inman, have suffered because Davis seems to want to play wingers down the middle(Colclough) and central players out wide. Best of luck to the lad. If he is gone, I do wonder what happens to the likes of Inman and Nolan. Nobody is safe, which is how it should be.

I thought that too but he apparently tweeted he was released tonight.
