And that's the difference when you play the team who won the NRL Grand Final last year rather than team who finished 8th or 11th. Souths were a different class today and although we didn't lack for effort it was still very hard to take. Some absolute monster defending from them at times but you look at a lot of their tries and they are soft tries. I wasn't expecting to win today but we never really turned up and got exactly what we deserved. Onwards to Castleford at home now.

Just looked too easy for Sydney really, although they got a bit of luck with some of the early decision. Pick ourselves up and go again on Friday night.

We nearly threw it away tonight but managed to make it 3 wins out of 3. Nice to see McDermott has been working them hard in pre season at making us a better and more expansive attacking side, not just relying on Sinfield's kicking game. Offloads central tonight with a few too many close to our own line for my liking. I think we will struggle to make the top 4 again this year bit at least it will be entertaining.

Didn't even know anyone was playing tonight. Can't argue with three wins from three though.

Entertaining game Arkan (despite what misery guts McDermott said after) you should catch the highlights programme if you get time.

Some terrible officiating in this Tigers/Saints game. How that second disallowed try for Cas was called a forward pass I'll never know.

Off the mark on Saturday against Ull, cracking try after Chase's dummy. Still much work to be done, but at least its a win.

"Lets all laugh at Wigan, lets all laugh at Wigan "
We were comfortably the better team last night despite putting in a pretty average performance ourselves. Without the help of the referee and some dodgy conversation kicking from Sutcliffe, Wigan could have been on the end of a hiding. Loving the way Cuthbertson has settled into the team and Singleton has looked very promising as well.

Another great win for Leeds, who are pulling away from the rest at the top the table. First half Rhinos were brilliant and blew Saints away despite missing the likes of Hall and Briscoe. Singleton was fantastic in the halves and justified his selection ahead of Sinfield, and Ward, Cuthbertson and Peacock dealt with the Saints pack very well. Saints showed what a threat they can be when Walsh came on and he will make a big difference to them as the season goes on.

Player dies after suffering a heart attack on the pitch:

Had the footballer in Belgium dying and now this poor bloke.

Keighley Cougars rugby league player Danny Jones has died after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest during a game on Sunday.

The 29-year-old Wales international collapsed during the League 1 game at London Skolars.

He was treated at the ground before being taken to the Royal Free Hospital.

York City Knights fan here. Shite season for us so far, don't even have a ground to play at. Our local cricket club, Doncaster and Featherstone Rovers have hosted our home games so far.

Our Chairman has gone to Marbella for six weeks in this mess and we don't have a scooby doo where we'll be playing at home to London Skolars next week.

As a Leeds fan I'm glad we aren't facing Warrington in the final. Will go into it as heavy favourites mind, hope there isn't an complacency.

Always likely no matter what Bath were trying to claim in public.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/34732141

Sam Burgess has left Bath with immediate effect in order to return to rugby league club South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Cross-code convert Burgess, 26, had two years left on a three-year deal.

Burgess was part of the England squad which went out of their home World Cup in the group stages.

He switched codes to join Bath last year but will now head back to Australia to play for NRL side the Rabbitohs, his former club.

The new season is nearly upon us, can't wait.

Last season was all about one team and they'll be the team to beat again this year.

I'm just hoping we (Saints) don't embarrass ourselves again in the World Club Series. Gutted to have lost Masoe but we've made some decent signings and I'm optimistic for the upcoming season. We were unlucky last season to lose in the play-offs in the way we did but were well beaten in the Challenge Cup. I see no reason why we can't reach Old Trafford this season though.

Great to see Tomkins back in Super League even though he won't be available until May. And with Wayne Bennett as the new England coach I think 2016 is going to be a good one.

Cracking first game, hopefully that's a sign of what Sandow (and Warrington) will do on a consistent basis this season.

Warrington were quite jammy with the awful Child assisting them for both their tries though Sandow was very impressive it has to be said. Jordan Lilley looks to have huge potential for Leeds.

Good start to the season and decent win for Warrington. Leeds missed Sinfield's kicks though.
