Wigan/Catalan the complete opposite of last night's game then thanks to conditions and sloppy play. More impressive wins for Saints and Hull.

One game and that but I reckon Warrington have a great chance this season.

Catalan really let themselves down last night with too many handling errors.

In terms of Warrington, I disagree, they are capable of beating anyone in the regular season, home or away, but when it comes to the play-offs or the grand final and they need to step up I think they'll fall short again.

To say I wasn't expecting that is an understatement. Credit to Salford as they outclassed us in all departments and just wanted it more.

Can't wait for the three World Club Series matches. As long as we avoid another 39-0 hammering I'll be happy. I don't expect any of the English teams to win but it'd be nice they did.

I noticed England have copied their Union and cricket counterparts in appointing an Aussie.

Very impressive CV and seems to have a strong no nonsense personality going by the BBC interview.

Went to Wigan/Brisbane tonight. The gulf in class between the NRL and Super League really is very disappointing. All the collisions were won by Wigan players but the positional and tactical discipline is sorely lacking, Wigan and Saints just didn't do the basics well enough and got slaughtered because of it.

Wayne Bennett is a very good appointment for England. Was very pleased with that when I found out.

Two very disappointing nights for the Super League clubs though. Of course the NRL teams are miles ahead but as you say, RavenBish, both teams just didn't do the basics right and were severely punished.

Still looking forward to tonight's game though and just hoping Leeds can make it a bit more respectable even with their injury problems.

Away to Hull KR tonight who have just sacked Chris Chester. Expecting a loss.

Fair play to Catalan. Leeds losing their first 3 and conceding 100 points in the process is mental. I'm off to Hull/Wigan on Friday, expect Wigan to win but it'll be a stern test for the defence.

Yeah, wasn't expecting Leeds to crumble the way they have.

Wigan will be favourites for that one but I haven't been that impressed with them so far this season.

Is this season Salford reach some of their potential?

Maybe not !

Good comeback by Warrington.

went to Hull last night, ridiculous bunch of angry moaners they have as fans. It was a bit bizarre. Good win for Wigan though - definitely looked better when Gildart came on and Sarginson moved to full-back. I'd keep him there till Tomkins is back.

Leeds find some form at last but certainly Widnes and Warrington seem very impressive.

I think it's safe to say Leeds Rhinos dominance in the Superleague is over

Sinfield and Peacock a huge loss

Early days but Leeds won the Grand Final when they finished fifth. I wouldn't rule out a top four finish for a good few months. I know Leeds have lost key players but come the business end of the season they still have that experience in the squad and the coach who won the treble. Having said that, consecutive home losses to Wakefield and Hull KR is very worrying.

Salford deducted 6 points for salary cap breeches so now only off the bottom on points difference.

Good Magic Weekend this has been. Outrageous 1 pointer from Jacob Miller to probably beat Catalan.

Think Castleford are the most entertaining team in the league on their day. Warrington looking a bit dodgy now, It really is anybodys league this season. Can see Huddersfield getting into the eight now with the way widnes are heading, can't rule out Salford either.

So Hull beat Wigan in the first cup semi final - on and off the pitch.

Very good game with lots of good defensive work (apart from for the 2nd Hull try..)

Didn't seem to be many Wigan fans at all which was surprising.

I know its Lancashire as opposed to Yorkshire but not that far to travel is it?

Castleford are wonderfully entertaining, shame they've had so many injuries which has meant they're too far adrift to mount a top 4 challenge. Tight at the top indeed.

Yep the middle 8s have been fantastic this year, much better than the long drawn out affair of the super 8s. Be very interesting to see how leigh get on next season, they are certainly going for it with their new signings, Eloi Pelissier is a real coup for them.
