A good result for us there with a good score to start with also. Love the Japs hope they can still qualify though.

Aussies failed to get a bonus point which might be vital..

France took a while to get going in the 2nd half against Romania.

Haha I was thinking the same...but then we'll have a tough enough job to beat them at all (Fiji). Everything they have left in them will be chucked at Wales.

Burgess is a beast with those offloads, and I think I prefer Farrell to Ford anyway. With England going with a more defensive backline it would have been ideal to continue with Tipuric as an extra attacking option rather than Lydiate.

I'm looking forward to seeing Burgess in a real RU game for England. Massive in the tackle, great with ball in hand and always a willing and strong runner. A bold move to chuck him in

Burgess was the obvious choice, it was him and all his international/big game experience or chucking Slade in the deep end

Not looking good for Namibia early on...hopefully they can tighten things up but it looks like the All Blacks are going to give them a proper hiding.

So who is going to win tomorrow?

Fancy England by 7.

Loads of hype from the media naturally probably trying to stir up tensions - hopefully its a decent game (and England win of course)

England should win. But I'm worried, just got a feeling that Wales are going to go france style mental, start chucking it about and attack from anywhere. That approach could work against us.

Backing Burgess for motm, after the stuff midweek about Scott Williams (who?) and Gatland saying smash Sam Burgess.... And the rest, I reckon he'll thrive on it.

I'm not a big rugby fan and all I've heard this week from the media is that dropping George Ford is a massive risk. Yet I've seen so many social media posts slating Ford in the past. Basically, is dropping Ford the right thing or not?

Ford is brilliant. Great rugby brain, skilful and fast. Basically Lancaster has bottled it. Watch Farrell get man of the match now.

So why does Ford get a fair bit of stick from supporters?

Because there is a mistake in him, there always is in players that play on the edge. It's a similar debate to the Andrews/ Barnes argument in the late eighties/ early nineties ( there's one for the youngsters) I think it depends on how you see the future of English rugby. Farrell-dependable, good goal kicker, defensively sound. Ford- creative, mercurial and attack minded ( he can also kick )

"Smash sam burgess " good luck with that lads. The bloke's so hard he makes chuck Norris look like a little girl.

That's what I was going to ask someone to confirm, is Farrell the slightly better kicker and defensive option. I'm thinking not many tries will be scored in this and it will be all about the win, so going for the slightly better kicker and England will look to amass points on the board that way while trying to keep it tight.

I know I had to have a chuckle, if there's one player in the England side you don't want to be trying to smash its Burgess, I'm actually worried for Jamie Roberts at the thought of him trying to tackle Burgess, his habit of going into tackles with his head and all. Also the Welsh leaving Tipuric on the bench.... really?! He's class.

Never underestimate the mind games of Big Warren. Burgess is in for his biggest test to date, and Scott Williams, no matter what people think of him, will give Burgess a hell of a game. As for Tipuric, he's unfortunate he's battling with Lydiate and Warburton for a 6/7 role as both of those are World Class too. Tipuric will come on in the second half and look to run a tiring England, I just hope it isn't too late by that point.

The one thing about England vs Wales games it's not often there isn't much to choose between the teams. England have seemingly picked a team to go straight down the middle in an attempt to keep Wales wingers out of action for as long as possible, whilst Wales have gone tried and tested. I really can't see there being more than a 7/8 point swing either way to the victors.

You've taken Gatland out of context here. He was asked if he was going to concentrate on Burgess's inexperience at test level, and said that the team will be trying to smash the whole England back line without singling anyone out.

Completely agree, I much prefer Ford in the side.

Wales will give everything tonight and I'm a bit worried they might nick it.

No chance of getting out this group. Over half a first choice side injured.
