Only oursleves to blame. Gave away way too many penaltes and gave Biggar the chance to win it.

Fucking stupid decision to go for the try. Fucking stupid ref blowing for every insignificant thing. Fucking stupid England for not recognising that the ref was an anal prick and gifting penalties away. We should have win that comfortably

Such poor game management from England. Yes the ref was picky but he was doing it for both sides. Fair play to Wales though, to pull off that performance with the ridiculous number of injuries they've had is impressive.

Awful from England, can't see how we will beat the Aussies, disaster. No-one else to blame we have an great knack of choking when it really matters.

It's what you deserve when you take your two best players off :animatedf:. Game changed when Youngs and Burgess went off, lots more space opened up.

One plus for England is we usually struggle to beat Fiji so it's not all over yet, plus our record against Australia is horrific too, and when you add in all our sodding injuries, i'm surprised there's players left out of the squad to be picked :dry:

Making it hard for ourselves then..

Got to beat the Aussies and maybe hope Wales beat them too?

We dominated the first half but Wales despite the injuries really got into us and of course kicked really well.

England shit themselves at their own party, let's have it right. Wales dug real deep, what an amazing physical and mental effort to turn the match around considering players being stretchered off left, right and centre and the replacements playing in all sorts of random positions. I can't see us progressing far in the tournament though, way too many class players missing now.

Don't forget that the Wallabies failed to get the bonus point against Fiji...still a long way to go yet.

Maybe they'll bring Hook into the squad now

That game had shades of the 2008 6 Nations game about it, England threatening to run away with the game in the first half and Wales doggedly grafting back into it in the second.

Hell no, was just trying to make it a bit easier for you :dk: we got to gloat, i'm sure you'll get your revenge come the 6 nations.
You should see the texts I've had. Oh well, stiff upper lip and all that. I'll just sack them all. Not that I'm petty mind.

If the groups are level is it down to head to head first or bonus points?

Class from Wales given all the injuries, don't begrudge that at all.

Thought we were miles off the standard needed before the WC started and I've seen nothing yet to suggest any different.

I think it's points difference and then tries. Could be wrong, it'll beon the official website I'm sure

I am wrong...It's head to head first:-

1.1.3 Rankings at the completion of the pool phase
At the completion of the pool phase, the Teams in a pool are ranked one through five based on their cumulative Match points, and identified respectively as winner, runner-up, third, fourth and fifth.

If at the completion of the pool phase two or more Teams are level on Match points, then the following criteria shall be used in the following order until one of the Teams can be determined as the higher ranked:

  • The winner of the Match in which the two tied Teams have played each other shall be the higher ranked;
  • The Team which has the best difference between points scored for and points scored against in all its pool Matches shall be the higher ranked;
  • The Team which has the best difference between tries scored for and tries scored against in all its pool Matches shall be the higher ranked;
  • The Team which has scored most points in all its pool Matches shall be the higher ranked;
  • The Team which has scored most tries in all its pool Matches shall be the higher ranked;
  • Should the tie be unresolved at the conclusion of steps 1 through 5, the rankings as per the updated Official World Rugby World Rankings on October 12, 2015 will determine the higher ranked Team.

And now Scotland 10-6 down against USA...

I didn't think they would fill all these stadiums...I remember Romania v Bulgaria at a half empty Elland Road during Euro 96, I know Scotland are playing but its great to see it full. That's not a dig at Leeds fans by the way...

So with those things in mind, Wales only need to beat Fiji and they'll be above England no matter what happens in the Wales vs Australia game, awesome.

No, because there are bonus points to take into account and it could be a three-way tie.

This is far from over in my opinion, could very easily end in a three way tie. Yes England will need a massive performance on Saturday night but its not beyond the realms of possibility, and as has been previously mentioned, Wales usually toil against Fiji, plus the injuries to take into consideration. Bonus points as well....of which England already have two.

All ifs and buts, Thursday will tell us a little more.

Reckon I'll spend most of today's match hiding behind the sofa, I watched Dover get humiliated in the Cup on the same day that Wales were humiliated by Fiji in 2007.

Horrible.

Wales to win but without the bonus points?

Least it looked like they avoided any injuries form their point of view!

If Wales don't get the bonus point then game on then for England, win against Aus and I'd say qualification is likely, either Aus lose 2 by losing to Wales as well or each loses has 1 win and 1 loss against the other 2 big teams meaning it goes down to bonus points where Wales would likely be worse off than England.

Good win for Wales even though they didn't get the bonus point, Fiji looked dangerous for the first hour but couldn't convert enough of their chances.

I have a feeling Wales are going to get edged out if England win on Saturday. Lack of bonus point could cost them dear.
