*League games.

Literally all you have to be in this division is organised with one good player (hello Macaulay Bonne!) and you’ll make the playoffs. The fact that Davis couldn’t even make us competitive is testament to his abject lack of ability. Glad he’s fucked off, but I’m now waiting for us to announce Teddy Sheringham and get relegated.
Hearing Askey is in the running.

This is a job for Martin Allen.

Barnet have failed to re-appoint him, so he'll be well up for this one.

Leyton Orient are a far bigger club than Lincoln. Not even a debate.

Lols. Why on earth would Cowley come to Orient?

Allen was interviewed last time... probably won't happen whilst Ling is here. Thank fuck.

100% the right call and it should've been done two weeks ago.

No one here expects promotion, we're still trying to get over the last ownership who've deliberately left us in a bad state and the new guys are still working on fixing what they broke.

Davis only had weeks to sort a preseason and to bring players in, it was all very rushed. But we managed to win 5 of our opening 10 games, which was decent considering our preseason was all very last minute.

But the cracks have always been there with him, we are not hard to beat and have a very soft underbelly. Davis badly failed to adapt to the National League.

The loss of Charlie Lee, George Elokobi and Josh Coulson have all been huge losses, but Davis has been given money to spend to bring in cover which he has done.

But the most annoying thing of all, was he always blamed the players, it was never ever his fault. Sadly Steve, football is a team game and that includes the manager and coaches. A slow possession based build up style which never went anywhere, you can't play total football in this league and that is what Davis always tried to do.

It was an appointment I was happy with, considering we have a Director of Football, you'd like to think he'd learn't from his time at Crewe. But ultimately he didn't and the Crewe fans views were all right. Terrible manager who to be honest I wouldn't wish on any side, he'll never be a manager again, he's crap.

What does Ling actually do? Surely there's an element of responsibility at his door, too?

Even if they are, who cares? Stockport are a bigger club than us but the Cowleys won't be going there will they?

He sits in the directors box, mic'd up to the bench and calls all the shots (tactics & substitutions) during games. The bloke doesn't have the balls to be manager himself, but wont let anyone else manage the club their way. It should be him that goes, not the really the managers fault if they have to do everything "his way".
Maddog wouldn't put up with that interference and Ling knows it, that's why they wont work together. So it will be another "yes" man that gets appointed...

He apparently looks after all the football matters at the club, from the first team down to the under nine's. He has the final say on all the transfers from all the age groups at the club, as well as monitoring all the playing budgets.

He does not pick the team or tactics, that is down to (was) Davis and his coaches.

Its understanable he is there as our owners are based overseas and don't have a great deal of experience in running a football club.

Some of the transfers he brought in when the takeover happened - Which he had to do as we only had 9 youth players and the season was fast approaching.

He brought in Charlie Lee (Good player but injured sadly with a nasty ACL), Jake Caprice (Our best player this season), Joe Widdowson (Average full back), David Mooney (He's been shite) and Jobi McAnuff (Who has also been mainly shite, but has been good in patches).

Not really?
My club are going through a never ending dull patch & the football they are serving up is shite, so not a lot to say on the matter.
As for the Orient comments, you don't need to be in boardrooms to know whats going on at other clubs, there are many many people who are trusted that are willing to tell you everything, you only have to ask.....
So i'll repeat to the O's fans who don't want to believe that Martin Ling is calling all the shots, go ask him, or watch him in the directors box on a home match day.

According to the NLP Martin Ling is the front runner, Graham Westley and Harry Redknapp are also in the frame.

NLP should do better research.

And we had to put up with it for years.

I kinda feel sorry for him... but then I remember what an arsehole he is.

He'll manage again. He'll be back at Nantwich within 6 months, guaranteed.

Welcome back to sanity, Orient.

I'll be surprised if they aren't considering Daryl McMahon, being an ex player and a young manager that is doing well.

I think Ronnie is unofficially retired now.

I think Brabin would do a decent job there. He would get them organised at least.

Barnet are in their customary relegation battle at the bottom of L2, so that means Allen will be going there around March/April time to save them like he does every season.
