York appoint Sam Collins as permanent boss. Happy with that?

Cheap option.

"Over the past few weeks, Sam has displayed the ability to take the club forward and fully warrants the opportunity." Their actually lower in the table than when he took over.

No.

It's just indicative of the absolute farce that is York City FC, there was never anybody else coming in, he's just a cheap option. Nothing is going to change as long as the ownership remains and the players milking this club dry leave, they'll probably just extend their contracts again though.

If I remember correctly he did alright as caretaker here but was pleased he left as he was one of the long term passengers in our decline.

Think I read on twitter that he's only lost 1 in 8 as caretaker at York (?). Many thought Bates was a cheap option here but he's doing alright so far, although how much of that is down to Ged McNamee (his experienced assistant) I'm not sure. maybe give Sam a chance, he's been after a managerial job for a while and i'm sure he wants to do well.

Not happy with appointment, cheap option but had 3 managers in 3 seasons and all been backed to bring own players in.
McNamara killed this club then Mills handed long contract with big wages least Gray signed some good younger players.
Problem is players on high wages who can play but choice to turn up when they can be arsed.least Collins will be aware of this with seeing this first hand. This is a hard job for Collins but players and squad already here it’s getting them to put effort it.

Mark Yates for Eastleigh?

No, can't see that happening.
We'll just stick with Ben Strevens till the end of this season at least. Cheap option and wouldnt be surprised if we announce an 18 month deal for him after beating Aldershot at the weekend.

Hakan Hayrettin back in charge at Braintree for a second spell after a successful spell as interim boss.

Garry Hill back in the game having taken over from Darryl McMahon who was sacked on Tuesday at Ebbsfleet

I'm just glad we didn't go balls out for him as it has panned out for him the way a lot of our fans anticipated. As in Macc was all he knew, he'd been there for 40 years under no real pressure. He'd get a nosebleed if he ventured outside a mile radius of the Moss Rose.

Back to Macc in time to guide them to 10th place down here next season I think.

Be surprised if he returned, could really do with him right now though.

Rumours going round that Wrexhams Sam Ricketts is speaking to Shrewsbury.

Surely not?

He's definitely not spoken to them according to our director, well he might do in the next few days obviously but hopefully it's bullshit. I'm not sure Shrewsbury would be best served at appointing another manager with no league experience. Ricketts has been a manager for 3 months FFS.

He is going to bigger things than us in the future, you can tell by the way he speaks, he's basically unflappable. To me he acts like someone who has been managing for 20 years already.

Hearing rumours Peter Taylor has had enough and may soon resign, McMahon & Maclean were at our game today.

Not sure you can say we now have financial constraints given the size of our squad and the last 4-5 signings. Hearing his heart is not in it anymore, it’s a long fall from where he once was.

Matty Bates has left as Pools manager.
Now go and make the effort to get Steve Watson in FFS, seeing as he's managed to build a decent team of North East based youngsters on a tiny Budget at Gateshead and has managed to improve them. He's manage to pick out the decent Middlesborough youngsters like Robbie Tinkler and Luke Armstrong for starters............

Must've been the attendance last night that fast tracked the decision. Knew Raj Singh wouldn't have been happy with that.

Hasn't worked out, but he did earn his chance last season. Definitely lost some of the dressing room and most fans. I'll now return on Saturday.

It is, however, another manager to pay off in addition to fighting the legacy debts. We can't keep sacking managers all the time but I think our hands were forced on this one, just delaying the inevitable otherwise.

There are a few good candidates out there but I don't reckon we'll pay anyone compo.

John Askey anyone???

Askey would be the dream appointment for me, maybe he leapt too far in going from Macclesfield to Shrewsbury, would he come back to non league so quickly, who knows.

I can see Phil Brown being interested, recently binned off from Swindon and we'll be linked with the same names that are always linked every 6 months we sack a manager, Lee Clark, Martin Gray, Ronnie Moore, Alun Armstrong, Ainsley at Spenny, that baldy scouser who gets linked to every job going Breadbin?

I'm honestly not that arsed who we appoint, we've tried young and old, mega experience and zero experience, we've tried every sick note ex Boro player and they've all contracted the Pools CURSE and turned out shite.

Edit: When I say not that arsed, that's anyone apart from Martin Gray and his shit eating grin.

Breadbin . You haven’t quite spent enough time at this level to appoint him. He’s the darkness before the dawn managerial appointment.

Steve Watson was highly rated at Macc alongside Askey and looks to have done a decent job on a reduced budget at Gateshead. They were spunking money at it up until a few years ago.

Askey can't cope being more than a mile away from the Moss Rose at any time.

Looks like we'll be looking for a new manager next week. Ricketts being firmly touted as the new manager at Shrewsbury.

What a kick in the teeth.
