Gary Hill, Chris Kinnear (rumoured to be on the way out of Dover) or Ady Pennock would be my choices.

When we played you a few weeks ago, you reminded me of ourselves under Steve Davis 12 months ago.

Played well enough, kept the ball well - But struggled to create many chances, whilst having a bit of a soft under belly and conceding cheap goals.

I remember going to the Gallagher when it first opened back in 2012 and we had a friendly there, he's taken your club a long way since then. A few National League South teams probably wouldn't mind giving him a job.

You'd be a brave man to give it to Kinnear, but he's a school teacher as well I thought.

I would have guessed at Jamie Day, but I see he's in Bangladesh now

Garry Hill thinks it's the worst Maidstone team he's ever seen.

I suppose the most important place to begin is really in the fallacy that the only reason we're not AFC York is due to Jason's generosity, it's a pervasive lie that extends inside and outside our fanbase. It was indeed a key facet of his campaign to get all the shares, the idea that we can't operate on a break even basis.

Jason doesn't put loads of money in, what he does is spend a lot of his own money on the basis that he will get it back from the equity in Bootham Crescent when the ground is sold in a year's time to Persimmon homes for development and we move to the new ground (where he conveniently enough has the contract to manage it). These are not generous donations, they're investments that he will receive back upon the sale of the ground, the millions of pounds we get for Bootham Crescent will not come into the football club to be spent to it's benefit, it will go to Jason to repay all of his loans.

Bare in mind that despite his contractual obligations Jason has not provided details of the clubs finances to the 25% shareholders the Supporters Trust for years, they certainly haven't approved any of his budgets. Jason decides the budgets, he makes every single decision, the reason for our constant losses is because of his reckless gambles which have paid off a grand total of once in his entire tenure.

We're not destined to make losses because YCFC is by default a loss making exercise, we make losses because Jason throws money at managers who he acquires without a thorough recruitment process, who he retains beyond their obvious sell by date and who he allows to sign players on lengthy contracts which are either paid off for exorbitant sums or we're lumbered with people who don't care at all about the club. If all Jason was doing was paying for the upkeep of Bootham Crescent (which isn't cheap) to keep it legally sound until our move then perhaps the idea that he was a generous man would have a sound basis.

In reality he has made consecutive gambles whilst alienating the fanbase and shirking his contractual legally binding obligations to the minority partners (who are effectively frozen out of the club) on the knowledge that whatever money he pisses away on his self-aggrandising ego trip will be coming back to him anyway. It's one thing to throw money around you know you'll never see again, it's quite another to do it when you're fully aware there is a nice big cash windfall you're due to repay the majority of it.

He's simply not cut out to be a chairman of a football club, he makes rash decisions when hiring managers whilst ironically being far too slow to act when they're clearly not suitable for the jobs, he hires failures like Jackie McNamara as CEO purely because he has an emotional connection with him, after flouncing off like a child when the shares issue went against him he allowed his cronies to find a cheap loophole to sack the popular Supporters Liason Officer (the only real connection the fans had).

It is no coincidence that three managers in a row now have completely failed at this football club; either they're all actually just awful managers in which case the buck stops with who recruited them or they're handicapped with players on long contracts in key positions nobody wants and a toxic atmosphere of over indulgence.

This summer the Presidents donated luxury towels to the players, which we bragged about on the website. The disconnect between the club and the fanbase is staggering, just recently the Supporters Trust held a legends game at Tadcaster. Many people asked why not at Bootham Crescent? Was it because there was a rugby game on that day? The reality was the Trust, despite being minority owners, aren't even allowed to use the ground or work with the club in any capacity. Years ago they were even locked out of using a function room they'd used for years with no word. Recently they were informed they were not welcome at the club's Open Day.

YCFC is Jason's personal fiefdom, when it was going well everybody ignored it and kissed his ring and thanked him, he doesn't have that to hide behind any more. Grey was failing, that isn't up for debate, but the rot is much deeper in this club than any manager. Unless Jason sits down and resolves his myriad of conflicts (needless ones) or leaves, this club is doomed. Even if we get a new man in who is a miracle worker and we romp to League One.

Just caught up with this. What a complete and utter mess.

I've been communicating with Phil for years and we've been Facebook buddies for a long time. Immediately after he was sacked, he cut off all communications with me and a number of supporters of other clubs. He also stopped posting on a forum I moderate. I miss him.

How's he doing?

Please no, I'd honestly rather Westley to Judas
I really hope it's one of our fans doing a bad troll job, but on the supporters page it's being claimed that Westley is in the running for the job.

At least if it is true it'd be fun to watch him squirm trying to back track on his 3G comments

Good question, he has completely vanished and it's understandable he did explode online and, allegedly, received legal notice about it so his silence may be a combination of feeling hurt by the club he gave so much to and because he feels he has to be.

It's all a complete farce, the club is a total mess and nothing will change until he leaves, the only difference is the majority of fans annoyance may change if we were promoted a few times. That'd just be a plaster on the wound.

Former Plymouth assistant manager Craig Brewster has been appointed in some kind of coaching role on a interim basis.

Chris Kinnear was 25/1 yesterday and has suddenly dropped to 2/1.

EDIT: now favourite at 5/4
