If Jay has left like it sounds like, I really dont want Steve Watt appointed manager. We need someone who knows this level.....not someone who's only experience is a year managing in the Ryman League.

Even then he disappointed at Margate with a decent budget & just signing his mates/our old players.

Id want Pennock or Gary Hill.

What kind of manager is he? What's his playing style? Long ball etc? Any info would be much appreciated.

Just been confirmed by the club he's going nowhere, so glad the bookies are wrong.

I wonder how many managers Macclesfield have got through in the time Jay has been in charge at Maidstone. I don't doubt other clubs will come sniffing round, but it's going to take a better offer than Macclesfield.

John Askey had been involved with Macclesfield for a long time and took charge as manager around 2012/2013....so its not like they had been chopping and changing managers.

As for him getting better offers?? i wouldnt be so sure of that. Another poor season like last and i cant see any league club being interested.

As I posted on the transfer rumours thread the other day, Kevin Nicholson to Barrow is looking highly likely. Only thing is, there are two Kevin Nicholsons - it's not the Torquay guy, but the one who was at Bangor. Seems highly rated, and about the best we can attract.

I have no doubt Pennock would be great for any southern club, Maidstone or not. Not always the best at changing up tactics, but his signings were very good and given time to build his own squad, he'd definitely do a solid job in this division.

Rather weird that Saunders is still odds on favourite for the Macclesfield job. I thought his odds would of dropped off big time after him saying hes staying.

Took about 4 days for Cowley to go from odds on for the Ipswich job to drifting out after signing his new deal.

The bookies don't have a clue mate.

Current odds:

Jay Saunders 1/3
Keith Curle 9/4
Richie Wellens 14/1
Darren Ferguson 20/1
Jaap Stam 20/1

Keates said he was staying and that there was nothing in the rumours that he was going to be the new Walsall boss. Few days later, what happened? He was unveiled as the new Walsall boss.

Our new manager to be announced soon. Heard he's been released as a player by a team in our division...

Now confirmed - Ian Evatt is the new Barrow manager.

No idea what he'll bring to the table. He's clearly a cheap-ish option and is apparently mates with Grant Holt. Let's hope he can get a team together quickly.

At least his experience of being Chesterfield's manager will stand him in good stead for a season full of adversity.

Huge, huge blow for Solihull that, he pulled up trees there last season to keep them up. Not sure where they go from here........

:shut: good luck Solihull. Can see them really struggling next season.

How long till Southport appear in this thread yet again then 4 defeats out of 4 thus far in National North. Liam Watson`s 4 spell? could last 4 games!

Four games in and Still has admitted the players aren't listening to him. With the dressing room mostly lost I have a feeling he will resign either now or after Saturday's game if he isn't pushed.

I listened to his interview after yesterdays game, he kept blaming the surface a bit too much for my liking. He's an experienced manager at this level and he is fully aware of the artificial surfaces for this league and the scrap that occurs on them, I'm not a fan of them but you have to prepare for them and be prepared to play on them.

Of course the longer he goes on with no wins, the more likely he could go.

Let's stick Martin Gray in here. We've started poorly and sacked the manager in autumn for the last several seasons, and it's not currently looking like that's going to change.

He will never resign, all about the money!
