How long till Southport appear in this thread yet again then 4 defeats out of 4 thus far in National North. Liam Watson`s 4 spell? could last 4 games!

Watson and our main beneficiary are very good friends. I wouldn't expect it to happen any time soon no matter how bad we are. This is the only time in recent history I'm confident to say such a thing!

Despite our humiliating defeat last Saturday we're still 4 points ahead of Southport with a game in hand and a superior goal difference. Always look on the bright side.

It could be a battle of who underachieves the most between us! We've got a team who look good on paper but nothing else, you've got two centre backs who are past their best and some basket case midfielders. It's a tough one to call!

Martin Gray given the boot at York after 5 matches. Not surprised at all judging by what I saw last week.

Just another placebo, fans will settle for a little while and get off the boards back but nothing is ever going to change until McGill goes. Even if we win the league by a record tally it won't change the toxic attitude towards supporters.

Why exactly does McGill provoke such hostility. Doesn't he put loads of money in every year. I know that's not everything, but without his money you'd been in the same situation as us.

Won't this be 4 managers in two seasons at York now?

Because he makes absolutely cock eyed decisons that repeatedly destabilise the club?

I suppose the most important place to begin is really in the fallacy that the only reason we're not AFC York is due to Jason's generosity, it's a pervasive lie that extends inside and outside our fanbase. It was indeed a key facet of his campaign to get all the shares, the idea that we can't operate on a break even basis.

Jason doesn't put loads of money in, what he does is spend a lot of his own money on the basis that he will get it back from the equity in Bootham Crescent when the ground is sold in a year's time to Persimmon homes for development and we move to the new ground (where he conveniently enough has the contract to manage it). These are not generous donations, they're investments that he will receive back upon the sale of the ground, the millions of pounds we get for Bootham Crescent will not come into the football club to be spent to it's benefit, it will go to Jason to repay all of his loans.

Bare in mind that despite his contractual obligations Jason has not provided details of the clubs finances to the 25% shareholders the Supporters Trust for years, they certainly haven't approved any of his budgets. Jason decides the budgets, he makes every single decision, the reason for our constant losses is because of his reckless gambles which have paid off a grand total of once in his entire tenure.

We're not destined to make losses because YCFC is by default a loss making exercise, we make losses because Jason throws money at managers who he acquires without a thorough recruitment process, who he retains beyond their obvious sell by date and who he allows to sign players on lengthy contracts which are either paid off for exorbitant sums or we're lumbered with people who don't care at all about the club. If all Jason was doing was paying for the upkeep of Bootham Crescent (which isn't cheap) to keep it legally sound until our move then perhaps the idea that he was a generous man would have a sound basis.

In reality he has made consecutive gambles whilst alienating the fanbase and shirking his contractual legally binding obligations to the minority partners (who are effectively frozen out of the club) on the knowledge that whatever money he pisses away on his self-aggrandising ego trip will be coming back to him anyway. It's one thing to throw money around you know you'll never see again, it's quite another to do it when you're fully aware there is a nice big cash windfall you're due to repay the majority of it.

He's simply not cut out to be a chairman of a football club, he makes rash decisions when hiring managers whilst ironically being far too slow to act when they're clearly not suitable for the jobs, he hires failures like Jackie McNamara as CEO purely because he has an emotional connection with him, after flouncing off like a child when the shares issue went against him he allowed his cronies to find a cheap loophole to sack the popular Supporters Liason Officer (the only real connection the fans had).

It is no coincidence that three managers in a row now have completely failed at this football club; either they're all actually just awful managers in which case the buck stops with who recruited them or they're handicapped with players on long contracts in key positions nobody wants and a toxic atmosphere of over indulgence.

This summer the Presidents donated luxury towels to the players, which we bragged about on the website. The disconnect between the club and the fanbase is staggering, just recently the Supporters Trust held a legends game at Tadcaster. Many people asked why not at Bootham Crescent? Was it because there was a rugby game on that day? The reality was the Trust, despite being minority owners, aren't even allowed to use the ground or work with the club in any capacity. Years ago they were even locked out of using a function room they'd used for years with no word. Recently they were informed they were not welcome at the club's Open Day.

YCFC is Jason's personal fiefdom, when it was going well everybody ignored it and kissed his ring and thanked him, he doesn't have that to hide behind any more. Grey was failing, that isn't up for debate, but the rot is much deeper in this club than any manager. Unless Jason sits down and resolves his myriad of conflicts (needless ones) or leaves, this club is doomed. Even if we get a new man in who is a miracle worker and we romp to League One.

No, he doesn't put loads of money in ever year, he loans it to the club and it will be repaid upon the sale of Bootham Crescent. Essentially he gets to play at being chairman using the clubs own money. In massively overspending, he has somehow managed to steer us to being a mediocre regional league side. At the same time he has managed to alienate the majority of fans at this point and his era has seen the club go from a place every one feels part of where we pull together, to one that is thoroughly miserable in almost every way.

Probably the right decision, and going by Bill's requirement of FL/NL experience that should mean Watty won't be an option for the long term appointment

Wow, okay then.

My thoughts also. Please don't just bump Watt to be manager...

''Applicants with Football League or National League managerial experience are invited to apply by emailing a CV and covering letter to Bill Williams: bwilliams@maidstoneunited.co.uk. ''

That takes Watty out the running

Wasn't Saunders linked with football league moves not too long ago? Probably should have took them in hindsight.
