Oh we are.

That's the scary part

You'd better hope it works then as next season is your last with parachute payments, as it is with us now, already dreading next year. That's the confirmation of the status of non league and shite. All these bottom half budgets are threatening the natural order.

I'd have given him 4 months to be honest. No way will he manage them in the North.

Risky move from Sheridan, but if he is happy because he is living more local to his family then fair enough.

He will need to adapt to this league, like most managers of the elite brotherhood clubs.

He'll need to quickly understand that you aren't going to win by large margins every week despite a superior playing budget, you have to be organised first before anything else.

Will never forget Steve Davis last season for us, thinking we could go out and out play everyone every week with slow possession football...............

Whats going on at Gateshead? Under a transfer embargo and Steve Watson has left to take the job at York? All not well?

No idea and I'm not sure anyone cares. Good appointment for Brother York, though.

Yet Hartlepool didn't even consider him it seems!

IMO this could be a turning point for York.................

Yeah, either that or he was sensible enough to not touch us with a barge pole.

Gateshead are 'backed' by a bloke overseas who wants to build an underwater casino, he's just waiting for the work on his hollowed out volcano in the middle of the ocean to be finished before he gets started on it.

For first time in years the fans seem to be happy, very good appointment on paper.
All the big earners are out of contract (except Newton who managed to get a 3 year contract)
So next season got new ground and lots out of contact.

Didn't know that, good news for York who can hopefully finally start moving forward. Funnily enough, even after such a terrible season the play-offs aren't a million miles away, start winning away and big and who knows? Could do a Bradford PA...

Our owners have said we will be appointing a new manager this week. I'm just hoping its someone experienced like Chris Kinnear and not another cheap inexperienced manager.

Still would be a step or two up from Wheeler in terms of managerial calibre but would his heart actually in it for a full-on managerial job? I think he’s much better suited to the Director of Football role he just started with us!

The rumour doing the rounds is its gonna be John Still with Hakan Hayrettin as his number 2.

If the "Head of Football" is responsible for team selection then that puts Hayrettin (or whoever you make Head Coach) in a difficult position.

Fair enough if you are appointing Still as DoF to make signings as per the continental model, but having him pick the team without taking training is a recipe for disaster. Plus - who will lead the team from the touchline?

This won't end well for Maidstone, hopefully Still will do us a favour by signing some of our poorer players on 2 year deals like he did in the summer when he signed a load from Dagenham.
