Dickenson back in training but not fit enough for the bench
Toure in France on compassionate leave, but will have to isolate when he returns

Fingers crossed conditions are at least better than for our last three games because frozen pitches, heavy rain and high winds have really been doing a number on our makeshift squad. Isn't Walsall the highest altitude club in the league?

Statement on today's postponement: Update on Postponement

Our COVID issues began this week when Callum Harriot tested positive. I called Tranmere yesterday, (Friday), out of courtesy to make them aware of our situation.

At that point, we accepted we had a slightly weakened squad but we were happy to go ahead and play the game.

This morning, (Saturday), I received a call from Tranmere’s club secretary, Tim Roberts, to warn us that several Tranmere players had woken up showing symptoms of COVID-19.

The Tranmere players have yet to be tested and when they are they might be all negative, but we have to assume some will be positive.

There are no rules, the EFL are making it up as they go along. They're not setting precedents or clarifying the rules, they're just expecting clubs to make a decision with no guidance, hence why similar circumstances end up with different ends results.

1-0 up and third attempt at going top of the table is on track. Notwithstanding the FGR score as they've just taken the lead Walsall look pretty ordinary and we've been comfortable without having to break too much of a sweat which is good to see. All about preserving fitness for us in January.

Thought Cambridge were supposed to be slick pass and move style football? This is like one of those Conference games when Nuneaton or someone score early doors and then stick everyone behind the ball. We look much more comfortable on the ball than them but we can't carve anything out, which has been the case all season. Cambridge very much hoofing it up and have had the best few chances of the match as a result.
